How is girth determined?

There is a lot of information in this group about length, maximizing length, how to get the best results with length, etc. But I don't hear much about Girth. With length I know the doc determines the base size to use by measuring and adds RTEs if necessary. Is Girth also customized for each man or is there one standard girth that everyone gets? If it is customized, how do they determine the girth and are there different sizes of the AMS or Titan that vary depending on the girth needed for the specific patient?

Both your length and girth are determined by the length and girth you were given at birth. There's no safe surgery to increase either. That said, when I had Peyronie's, my length was restricted, so the Tunica stretched in the sideways direction and I got a bit more girth. It had to expand in some direction.

So what does the surgeon do during surgery to determine the girth for the patient on the table? And does he select from implants of varying girths available to him in the OR at the time of surgery?

The implants don't have varying girths. It's my understanding that the Coloplast Titan can give more girth than the AMS. It would still be a function of your natural girth, though. I can only recall a couple of people here saying they had more girth than prior to surgery.

That expansion is what gives you the delicious feeling when you are pumping an erection. The implant is fi8lling up the space you have available.

It is important to understand that the Titan implants have no limit on expansion in girth other than your own anatomy, so it is possible to stretch some over time with a Titan. The AMS 700 expands in girth during inflation also, but the expansion is limited by internal fibers to a fixed maximum diameter. This is likely because unlike the titan, they expand in length, and they would have to control the girth expansion in order to transfer the hydraulic force to the smaller area of the tips for length expansion. The nice thing about it all is that it gives you a choice based upon what you want to accomplish and what you are born with or left with after trauma. In my case I have plenty of Girth, but I have lost substantial length through my cancer treatment, so the AMS was a no brainer. If you want to maximize girth, a Titan is your best choice.

No. Both AMS and Coloplast manufacture narrow-model cylinders for particular reasons. However, for most patients, standard girth implants are used.

Length is limited bi not only the tun7ca albuginea, but also by the length other tissues, nerves, urethram etc. Girth is limited by the tunica alone (I think), so the implant can expabd to the tunica without risk of tearing other tissues, as a lengthwise expansion coul.

At least, this is how I understand it.

Over time both length and girth can stretch more than what you would have naturally, but that is a years-long process and is not substantial.
