Hi guys , i am new to Frank Talk , i am Canadian 45 years old . I had a heart attack about 3 years ago and i am diabetic as well . I have a severe form of ED . Not even a morning erection specially after the heart attack . I used pills before but it was successful in 50 percent of the time .
Any ways , i asked my family dr. to refer me to a specialist regarding talking about implants . He did 2 months ago and i am still waiting for a call from him . Dr Elterman in Toronto western hospital .
My question is :
1/ any Canadian who did implant recently ? which Dr. did it for you ?
2/ Is there anyway to speed up the specialist appointment ?
3/ Why people prefer to do the inflatable implants as opposed to semi-rigid one ? i heard that inflatable ones has lots of mechanical failure and needs to be replaced after 8 years .
4/ I tried to call American Drs. their office replies the same day and they are much faster than Canadian ones , i mainly called Dr. Eid and Dr. Perito .
Any help is appreciated

All the best Joe 456 ...
I had no idea that this surgery would be covered by OHIP !!!! I was under the impression that we would have to pay for it .
Did you have a specific reason to go with inflatable implants ? I know the semi-rigid ones are a bit hard to conceal but they last longer than the inflatable ones .
How long did it take to see Dr. Elterman from referral ? I have been waiting for 2 months now . haven't received a call from him yet .
Please keep us updated post op . All the best again ...

3 piece inflatable implants are modern. They give a more natural experience. Malleable implants are old school. Today they are used if the patient has limited dexterity and cannot pump an implant. There is a higher risk of erosion with malleable implants.

I expect warranties may differ depending by country. It would be best to inquire for one's particular circumstances.
