I too have seen the video you are referring to. As merrix states, he achieves the shortening by extracting the very back solid section of the cylinders, by cutting the device portions designed by the manufacturer to connect RTEs.

You can go to the Coloplast website and find a photo or a diagram rendition that is showing the unaltered cylinders, and can compare it with the shortened cylinder he shows on the video.
