Erection: Organic or Mechanical?

Postby Lost Sheep » Fri Apr 28, 2017 5:59 pm

The thread, ""Did you lose sensitivity?" wandered a little off-topic and prompted these questions:

Who would trade a functioning penis for an implanted one? Whose partner would prefer it?

Option 1: A functioning penis having erections on arousal, enduring enough to get the job done and a normal refractory period before being able to do it again, etc.

Option 2: An implanted penis having no refractory period, but possibly having the "hinge effect" an extra piece of hardware (might be uncomfortable on a bicycle or some seated positions) in your scrotum, potentially problematic flaccid state, likelihood of repeat surgeries or other drawbacks, including loss forever on natural organic erections.

Is a (potentially) permanent erection worth the loss of a natural one or a little bit of size?

Put another way, from the woman's perspective,

Which is preferable? Your man's penis or a dildo covered in your man's skin?

If your man can give you great sex as he is, how do you feel about having a man with a dildo installed?

I resent, as would many implanted men, referring to an implant as a dildo covered with skin. My implant was my last hope to function like a normal man. Does my wife prefer my implant over a dead dick. Dam right she does. Did you strike a nerve. Dam right you did!

An implant would not be something most people would contemplate if they have a working penis, if only because insurance is not going to cover an implant unless your doctor certifies that it is medically necessary. If you have a working penis, why would you want an implant (unless, perhaps, you're a performer in porn movies and need to keep going no matter what)? For ordinary people, an implant is the last stop on the ED train after all else has failed. If a magical cure were to appear, I have no idea how many men would want to remove their implant and go natural - I suppose some might and others might not.

My beautiful GF has just turned 60. We are laying here discussing this question. A year ago when I met H I was using the pill mix, Viagra, Levitra etc with mixed effect; mostly about 1/3 erect and H being multi orgasmic and an amazing sex partner was the perfect lady and was always complimenting me about how 'everything' I did was great for her.
I shifted a gear into using Caverject which was fabulous IF I got it right but after reading widely about the possible internal scarring causing long term damage I did the numbers and opted for a Titan... Implanted about 12 weeks ago.
Miss H loves my bionic member. She loves the spontaneity and she says she really loves the firmness. She is able to position herself to get what she requires and there is no rush. I am 62 but I can remember when I was 18 showing off and walking around with 2 wet towels draped across my "towel rack"......my implant allows me that again which is remarkable.
So in a (no pun intended) nutshell.....H absolutely loves my new friend, does not find it un natural or weird..... She says she loves how I can vary the firmness instantly and says it's terrific to fellate.
I have written on here before that the major drawback for me is laying on my stomach for a massage and paddling my surfboard is a little uncomfortable but laying on Miss H more than compensates!

Thoughtful and well stated!

I ditto this post!

I am YOUNG here.. I had ED for 8+ years and hated the feeling that I could not fulfill my wife's desire and while I could at "times" often perform the length of session came up short or how about having a wonderful time with really awesome sex to simply change positions and go limp! .... leaving us to use toys and in the end me feeling as a complete failure even after (now 23 years).. I would use toys to absolutely hate them because they could do what I could not!

My wife began to feel how I felt (when you married that long they "know you").. She felt guilty that she wanted and needed more than I could deliver.

I am now just 9 Days post-op and can assure you that she is so excited we have made out in the morning before I goto work and I feel as if we are 18 again (and I have not even activated) but just knowing that right around the corner we will be happily making those toys jealous cause what I give is 100% love and my all...

If I have a skin covered dildo than I am sure glad it's attached to me (my penis) instead of being a toy in my or wife's hands! Those will be my nerves and my motion working her over GOOD! and we will happily ride into the future madly in-love and milking life for every second of joy and pleasure and now I do not have to give a single thought to keeping it up that I can actually enjoy watching her in ecstasy and taking in those precious moments!

Regards to all!

I apologize for the nerve strike. The provocative term was purposeful but not intended to be derogatory. Some people (not many) feel an implant to be somehow inferior to a WORKING penis.

So, you did miss the point of my post. Is an implant an improvement over a healthy penis. Not "is an implant an improvement over a dysfunctional penis".

Again, I beg forgiveness for a less-than-articulate composition of my question.

By the way, I am very grateful for the answers received (all of them). They ratify my hopes for my own treatment for forty years of slowly progressing ED.

Ddbryan1972's response especially gives me hope that my erection will not be seen as a "second-class" member.

Thank you

Your apology is accepted. Many implanted men, especially me, are quite sensitive when it comes to their dicks. Of course, a healthy working penis is what every man dreams of. A penis with no problems would be great. There are advantages that a man with an implanted penis has over other men.
1) Nothing interferes with his erection. No drugs, alcohol, or allergies can stop his implant from giving him an erection.
2) His partner will always be totally sexually satisfied. His dick will never let him 'down'.
He let's it down when he's ready.
3) Absolutely no refractory period. Come and go with ease. As many times as he wants.
4) His dick will usually be larger than most average men.
5) His erection will never be affected by age. Even a 90 year old man can fuck like an 18 year old. (Try that with a normal dick)

I agree 100% Rev. Don. I also find the characterization of the implant as "a dildo with skin" patently offensive. If that's how Lost Sheep sees his potential implant, perhaps he should make other plans. Those of us who've had the procedure basically decided to trade in our intermittent and/or insufficient blood supply due to a variety of factors for a saline supply that works 100% of the time. I'm coming up on 5 months since becoming bionic & I also agree w/ Don's list of advantages...best health move I've made so far...

When my natural penis was 100% functional, it was a good size. Not huge, but good. The physical sensations I felt when getting an erection are probably what I miss most.

But now I can be as hard as a rock, and keep that erection for as long as I want. When I was young, I would lose my erection as soon as I came, and that was it for the night. Wife wasn't always happy with that. When dating, there were times when I couldn't keep an erection. That was really embarrassing.

Honestly, if I had known about this decades ago, and had a way to pay for it, I would have gone bionic when I was young.
