First Post - Not Doing Well

Postby smallbutsure » Sun May 14, 2017 7:20 pm

Hi All,

I have read through a lot of these threads and have found many helpful. I injured my penis in early 2010 perhaps by pulling it too hard after ejaculating when not fully erect (maybe 50%). I did not function well for most of 2010, but was given Cialis daily towards the end of that year and that helped. I even had a Doppler ultrasound done, and it showed I was potent, although I remember the erection after the urologist injected me was not even as strong as the ones with Cialis. Cialis for daily use did get me an erection, but it was not as engorged as it had been previously. However, eventually, I was able to get off the Cialis and function decently, albeit at my reduced thickness.

However, for the past month, I have been unable to get an erection via masturbating or intimacy. In addition, my nocturnal erections are either non-existent or soft and disappear quickly. One night I woke up and it was thin and soft, like spaghetti. This includes after taking daily Cialis for a few days.

I understand it takes forever to get to specialists, but I am able to get into one who doesn't take insurance by paying a lot of my own money. What concerns me the most is that I think the endgame is going to end up being an implant, but I do not want to wait too long for that, since the lack of nighttime erections and blood flow at night will surely cause the penis to shrink even more. I already have a small size compared to most of the implant recipients who I've read about on here (a month ago when I could still get fully hard I was 4.5-4.75" not bone-pressed when erect, and about 5.5" bone-pressed erect). Stretched flaccid measurements are about the same.

I would really like to get the surgery before I lose even more size. A video posted by Dr. Paul Perito posted on another thread mentions how the penis atrophies after impotence, largely due to no nighttime erections.

I believe Dr. Andrew Kramer in Baltimore is my best bet. How many hoops must one go through before scheduling with him?

Thanks

When I got my implant several years ago there were no hoops to jump through with Dr. Kramer. I went in for an exam and asked him how much lead time he needed. He said if insurance cooperates he could schedule within 2 weeks, which is exactly what happened.

I have a bad feeling the insurance may not cooperate right away. I was hoping to streamline the process a bit and submit my claim later for reimbursement. I know this is not recommended, but I really want to get scheduled before I lose too much size. I wonder if there's a way to get scheduled and submit the insurance reimbursement later, after paying out of pocket. I think it's just a $500 penalty for my insurance.

You can do vacuum therapy and traction to regain a bit of size and prep the penis forth implant if you go that route.
