Implant moved up to 6/7----Excited
Re: Implant moved up to 6/7----Excited
I'm ready I think. Going alone. Wife is staying with her elderly mom. Hotel is only a couple of blocks away and the hospital van will take me after surgery. Headed back home Saturday am, hopefully without too much pain
66 YO, Implant 6/7/2017 at University of Maryland by Dr. Andrew Kramer, High Volume Implant And world class surgeon. AMS 700. Great expierence with zero complications.

Congrats bigred! It's totally normal to be nervous. Hope you have some cute nurses.

36 years old. Coloplast Titan OTR implanted on 6/1/2017 infrapubically. 20 cm cylinders (no rear tip extenders) with a 125 ml reservoir. So far so good!

Tenk11, how you doing? It's only been 6 days since your implant! Wow, are you able to get up and about?

I am indeed able to get up and about. As I've said previously, I am very thankful to my surgeon that I do not have much pain. Right now my balls hurt the most. My incision hurts some if I put some strain on it but other than that I'm pretty good. I don't feel the reservoir at all. I was also surprised at how big the pump feels, as I understand it the AMS pump is even bigger than this one. Better than too small I guess!
Good luck tomorrow man, In a month or two we'll all be enjoying our new bionic parts.

AMS is more comfortable when flaccid, as the Coloplast Titan crinkles up a bit when deflated.
Both makers' devices are capable of erections beyond what is comfortable for coitus.
Dr Eid told me that AMS makes the entire device. Coloplast has the tubing and connectors made by others. Coloplast's weak link are those connectors and tubing. AMS has fewer problems with those, but the inflatable material of the Coloplast is more robust than the AMS inflatable part. The service lives of each seem to be comparable.
The pump that seems to be easiest to operate is used with the AMS CX (a different pump than the AMS LGX).
All in all the pertinent deciding factor should be the condition of the patient's tissues.
The Coloplast is "tunica dependent" and the AMS devices are not (though I am not entirely clear on what that means, but once the surgeon examines the patient's innards, a decision can be made).
Coloplast devices are often used on patients with Peyronie's disease or scarring which requires the Coloplast tougher material, and also on men with substabpntially larger than average penises.
AMS (I hear) has about 70% of the U.S. implant market and Coloplast the rest.
