My wife has really good intuition, and she felt good about this doctor. But all that aside, I'm still nervous. Tomorrow's BD-Day! Bionic Dick-Day. :D

That's what I did also. He was the elder surgeon in a 8 Dr.Uro office. I was very comfortable with him.
He did, as far as I am concerned a good job. I did loose maybe 1/4" but have gained that length back and more in girth.

Gongrats on getting you new implant. I am assuming you have had it done already. Welcome to bionic world. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks Charlie, but I have not had it yet. Tomorrow morning at 7am. A bit nervous.

I hear of very few success stories for erection after RP. I think some get some of it back and they are happy with it. I am getting nothing. Been ready. Go for it I wish I would have done it sooner

Tybeeman,

In some respects your situation is oposite of mine and on others, similar.

I was underperforming sexually for decades (unbenownst to me and my lovers were too uninformed, kind or enamored of my redeeming qualities to tell me), but a few years ago, it got so bad I was prescribed oral medications. THey helped stabilize (but not improve too much) the situation. Then, last summer I got the V.A. to authorize a penile implant. I could have had it done in September by a local urologist, but held off so I could get better informed. I am glad I waited.

I did due diligence and learned a LOT. I became an advocate of pre-implant conditioning (by Vacuum Erection Therapy) for tissue size and elasticity restoration before implantation I was also able to become much better informed of other implant issues. Size is one thing, but my concerns in order of importance, are with having full support of the glans, optimal pump placement, comfortable reservoir placement, ease of operating the implant, naturalness of feel and appearance, size in girth and length and ease of post-op recovery.

For the above reasons, I have elected to go to the best surgeon available to me, and between Dr. Eid and Dr. Kramer, Dr. Kramer operates inside the VA Hospital in Baltimore, so I chose him.

Now, the VA has tossed a monkey wrench in the works requiring in-person examination in Maryland before they will schedule me. If I cannot resolve that issue, I may have to go with my local surgeon. Or not have the operation. Wednesday, I asked a physician's assistant (who has seen several patients get implants over the past few years) what she would have HER husband do if it came to it. She said unequivocally, to go with the highly experienced surgeon.

Decision, decisions. Some, I can make and some are to be made for me. Sigh.

My local surgeon does not like to talk about what he intends to do OR about what another surgeon would do. So, ease or openness of conversation is not really a factor for my decision.

Pity. I would definitely welcome that.

Mine will talk about what he would like to do if the surgery field optimal. I checked again with him and he says that while AMS and Titan both have their strong points, he recommends the AMS more often then the Titan because of it's ""coatings and reliability" Dr. Brock has written articles for the Journal of Medicine and this week he is in Australia working. I would be quite comfortable saying that Dr. Brock is Canada's version of Dr. Kramer.
