How many of you guys don't care and tell everyone you got an implant?

It really doesn't bother me, I would tell everyone. But I can tell you there will be a whole lot of jokes going on in front of us about it.

I told a couple of close friends one of them thinks I am a nutter....the other is younger and doesn't have ED.
I have tried to talk ED with a dozen friends but surprise, surprise, they are all porn studs at 60+ and will never have that 'problem' !!!!.......liars and denialists......so I would never tell any of them which is their loss because I am the avant garde and they could see just how amazing an implant is.

I don't think anyone can speak for you, but personally I tell very selective friends. Any guys I tell are because they could someday be looking at ED themselves, and I like them enough as friends to open up the topic. One friend from church originally shared with me that he'd gotten an implant in his 20's. His talking to me about his just "out of the blue" was perhaps the greatest factor in my considering the implant route for myself. I KNOW some women I'm acquainted with are VERY hung up and would be totally offended if I said anything about mine. And that's okay 'cause I don't want them to know about it! They don't deserve to know! ;-) I've probably shared with more people than I ever would have only because I tried to schedule an MRI a few months ago. The hospital radiology scheduler on the phone asked about the whole list of implants and metal devices I might have. When I said I have an Inflatable Penile Implant he asked, "And where in your body is it located?" I admit, that was just too hysterical not to share and in order to tell it, I have to confess I have an implant! So a few more folks know!! Not like I posted it to Facebook! LOL!

As I said before, this is such a personal matter that it is up to us as individuals to decide to whom we want to share the fact of having an implant. I think that it depends a lot on one's background, life circumstances and personality, which is as variable as each one of us.

Obviously, this is not a topic to discuss at the Tanksgiving table since it is not a subject for that occasion. However, in my case, I have shared it with the people I love and love me the most, which will be supporting me throughout the process. Non of them have made or will make any joke or comment out of place about it.

I do not discuss it in the context of my sexual life; that is something between my wife and I. I approach it from what it is: a chronic condition that I have no control over, and at one point of their lives most likely they will face it directly as a male, or as a wife/partner of another male. And I use it as a teachable moment, which they do appreciate and I know that they are more receptive to be open to discuss with me if they want to do so. It already has happened, which makes me happy to see that somehow I have contributed to enhance their quality of life, and not suffer it in silence.

This is a completely personal issues. People that dont live through it just dont understand. I am by nature a private person. I told no one but my wife. Took time out of work for "hernia surgery". But was also private about my RRP. If anyone finds out, screw them, its none of their business. This is a problem within my household. My wife & i will deal with it accordingly. Works for us.
Born 1958, married. Prostate Cancer. RRP November/2014. PSA undetectable since. Implant May/2017 AMS700LGX 18 cm + 1.5 cm RTEs.

Ok that was great post by everyone. I think you all got me on my wife's side of thinking to keep this to our selves. I need a medical procedure I can tell people besides an hernia. No one would buy that. May say it was a type of rectum surgery no one like to talk about that. I have my implant on a Monday and have a big family get together on Saturday. Any way you see me going to something like that 5 days after surgery? I will be sitting

Women get around details by saying it's a "female problem". Maybe you can say it's a male problem.

I tried just saying "when I had surgery" but people would ask, "what was your surgery for" I have had a lot of Australian surgery (down under)... so I changed it to "male plumbing problems". That doesn't say a lot, but says enough that most people are too embarrassed to enquire any further.

It is actually a very accurate way to say it without describing it. Bottomline: this is a plumbing and hydraulic overhaul of our erection process, which is no longer auto activated by sexual arousal, and it is surgically switched to a manual on-demand operated system.
