someone mentioned in another post that insurance doesn't always pay for the procedure; they noted that if it's part of reconstruction then it's covered, but if the Dr. states ED as the cause, insurance might not pay.
I haven't had any surgery or injury that's caused my ED, but it seems to be a health problem that isn't going away, i feel it should be covered under insurance just like anything else. I would think that reproductive health should be covered.
did your insurance pay?

Depends on the policy. If you are getting it from an employer or work in government it is probably covered. But if you get your insurance as a individual it maybe tough. Most insurance companies ato less want you to try pills or injections first. All you have to do is pick up the phone and call.

Re: did your insurance pay?
Mine did after a LONG battle. Had a specific section that it would not pay for any procedure that promotes conception and threw that under that bus just for grins. Personally, I would say if the cause is diabetes, leak, nerve damage, surgery to the groin or spine, high blood pressure, injury, then it should be covered and I would turn into a mean dirty bitch and fight them if they said otherwise. There is no better advocate than yourself. You live in that body 24-7. If you have an idea that may be a contributing factor, share it with your doctor and enlist his support or help to kick ass and win. Good luck luck with the phone call too. I had many reps tell me it was not covered only to find myself there was no exclusion except for conception. In one case I was told they "automatically" deny every claim up to 3 times and an attorney and former judge told me in a meeting that every claim has a cost assigned to it. If the person handling the claim can reduce the amount set aside for a claim, they get a commission on what they save.
LGX 21cm .Milam 01/13/16. Horror; both service and surgical outcome. hated infrapubic installation. Kramer revision 03/01/17. 22cm Titan +1.5cm extender. Those who think their opinion is the only one that matters are a danger to themselves and others.

Health Care in Germany is way better than in the US - my medical aid paid every cent. The doctor/hospital settled with medical aid directly.

I have a medicare advantage plan. my dr. copay is $50 each and the hospital copay is $100.
they say I have to pay 20% of the cost of the implant ('durable medical equipment') but won't tell me how much that is.
are you sure straight medicare paid the full cost, including the device??

updated: 70 y.o., implanted with titan nov. 3 by Dr. Brady in orlando to correct peyronies. 20 cm with 3 cm RTEs. due to the severity of the peyronies, some internal excisions were made scrotally, recovery will probably take a little longer.

Re: did your insurance pay?
This question has been discussed many time so do a search on insurance.
Coverage will depend on your insurance and your doctors ability to show them you need it. If you are old enough for Medicare it will pay for it. I have Medicare Advantage which matches Medicare.
My doctor's staff worked with the insurance after he did several tests to show other cures did not work. After several months it was approved and I paid for a one night in the hospital plus meds. Less than $500.

Re: did your insurance pay?
Some employer insurance spells out the non-coverage explicitly. "penile implants are not covered" This is the insurance for a major steel company. They cover breast reconstruction after mastectomies but won't cover implants after prostatectomies. Methinks gender discrimination.

Same with me. Except I did have a $450. (approx.) co pay. It was worth every penny.

I agree it was and is work every penny. Knowing what I know now it is difficult to put a price on it.
