How much does the second implant cost with doctor eid if the first implant fails before ten years? Anyone knows the price that would cost the second implant?
I am talking without any insurance that covers the price as it is my case

I spoke with him over the phone 3 weeks ago. For implant failure before ten years, you do not pay his surgical fee and you do not pay for the implant (you basically own rights to it for life). What you do pay for is: hospital fees, OR, anesthesia, post op care.
He said approximate total for revision for post-op failure is ~$10,000-$12,000, or little less than half the original total cost.
This is about the same approximate price Kramer told me as well.

So if the implant fails before ten years, the revisión would cost between 10000-12000? It would be the cost of hospital feel, anesthesia and those things?
Its that?

Yes, that is what he told me. However, he did tell me to ask his secretary for the exact price, which I will be doing tomorrow.
A titan with Eid costs $8700, so by your finances the remaining cost would be 6300 max. I think part of the post op care isn't covered by his 10 year guarantee, which basically is access to him whenever you need.
I will post exact prices tomorrow, including exactly what is covered by his 10 year guarantee. Ill post late tomorrow night when I get off work.

Alright boys listen up,
Hey,
I spoke to Eid's secretary today. She that if the device suffers a mechanical failure, then you will be paying for the hospital and anesthesia, which amounts to a total revision cost of $3,050, as of today. This price could be different in the future.
If you need a revision for something that is not a mechanical failure, then the cost for the revision is about $11,000, which includes anesthesia, hospital, and a new implant. This may happen if you dislike your implant and want a different model, ect. Or this could happen due to an infection. If this happens, and you are paying out of pocket and you aren't wealthy, you are very well fucked. Estimated cost of treating an injection out of pocket is around $50,000, additional to the ~$25,000 you payed for the initial procedure, and then you will need to pay another $11,000 six months later if you want your implant back. I hope all of you who get to have insurance cover their procedure can appreciate the risk some of us are taking when we pay out of pocket.
So good news and bad news here. $3050 is, IMO, a great price for mechanical failure revision. Assuming an average life of 10 years, you only need to save $300 a year for this, and assuming 5 years, then only $600 a year, neither of which is bank breaking.
However, If I were to experience an infection, I would be financially fucked, aka in debt. I saved enough money for 2 of these things. I did not save enough money for the ~$86,000 that I would expect to pay if I suffered an injection (all things included).
Hope this helps.

Hi Cnidium,
I hope you are well. I saw your post here while searching, as it looks like I am going to need a revision to my Coloplast Titan, which has leaked after 7 years.
I was referencing your post above, as I will be talking with Dr Eid in about 2 weeks time.
Currently Im asking his staff about revision costs for a leaked device which leaked 7 years later; as I was hoping that Dr Eid would waive his fee as you and others have mentioned..
I was told the following today:
"For the implant as mentioned I will have to contact the rep for warranty, usually they send someone from the company to get the explants send the device for examination to make sure that the failure is mechanical issue.
As for Dr. Eid surgical fee, unfortunately warranty does not apply. Dr. Eid might consider if it is within 3-5 years. The best I can do is to ask him if he can give you a break for his fees."
Is anyone able to please help here?
Re: Eid second implant cost if first fail before ten years
I had a recent revision with Dr.Eid. He removed my faulty ams and installed a titan. Approximate costs were 14800$ dr fee+ 8700$ implant + 5500$ hospital and anesthesia.
Lifetime warranty for implant mechanical failure and 3 years of guarantee for doctor fee.
Reading this thread i noticed the previously he offered 10 years of guarantee for his fee. I don't know if now is 3 years because there are too many failures or because he thinks about a retirement in the next years.
