Very happy with my implant. No issues at all. Better than my erections before the implant ever were. Always ready. I do think that picking a high volume surgeon with a good bedside manner to be able to ask questions helped me feel comfortable preop and because of the surgeon's experience got me a perfect implant result.

And my wife is so much more relaxed because I am.

Hey stiffupperlip,

At this time, to answer your question, I just want to focus on the surgeries outcome, not necessarily on the surgeons. I have not presented my story because it is not the right time; sooner rather than later, I will disclose it under the right circumstances.

My pre op dimensions were 7.25" L x 6.5" G

My first surgery (LGX 21cm + 2cm RTE) done via peno scrotal approach, was plagued by many issues: there was a mechanical pump malfunction that I noticed once I was released to cycling (so, it basically came defective from AMS) because the cylinders were deflating within minutes. Also, even though the tubing coming from the reservoir was placed deep down so it could not be felt, it was cut too short so whenever I was pumping it dented the cavernosa, creating pain. In addition, due to the same tubing issue, the shaft was twisting and pushed toward one side.

The outcome of the first revision (CX 24cm + 1cm RTE) done infra pubic, solved most of the issues, but the pump healed so high, that rendered an implant that can not be filled with the the maximum of saline, and a very discomfort/pain.

For the second revision, I was told that I was implanted with a cylinder size that later on I discovered it does not exist (LGX 24cm). So, in reality, I ended up just with another CX 24cm, but with 3cm RTEs. This time, apparently I was left with an excess reservoir tubing, which healed stuck to the cavernosa at different points, but the most painful healing point is that the crimping is stuck to the cavernosa, at a very high position that makes it easily palpable and visible. The way it healed, it is also making the shaft to twist and pushed toward the other side, creating a permanent discomfort while flaccid, and very painful erections if pumped beyond 50%. In addition, the right testicle has migrated up so high, that is another source of discomfort and pain.

I am in the process of evaluating surgeons and options to fix this problem once and for all. So far, every surgeon I have visited, have 100% validate the obvious issues present, but have pointed out other issues that I was not aware, such as the fact that the front tips are too deep into the glans. All of them have committed to go ahead with a revision since they have seen the problems I currently have with this mess.

I hope this explains, in a general way, the reasons as to why the revision surgeries have been needed, and provide a sense of the delicate of the situation.
