Monkey Butt and similar are made for heat rash. Yes it is good for that. With a smell it is likely fungal and an oral antifungal will usually clear it in 1-2 days. With the topicals it likely will not clear of keep coming back. Been there, did that already. Would you rather bother your doctor which is what he has taken the job to do or would you rather he sit in a cafeteria all day playing video games?

Lesson time.
Everyone gets a good dose of antibiotics when their implant is installed. The antibiotics do a good job of controlling bacterial infections but there are issues involved. Sometimes the antibiotics kill off beneficial bacteria in the gut and lead to diarrhea issues. For that reason I always take a lot of multi strain Probiotics when I am on antibiotics. That helps ward off the poop issues.

Secondly, fungal infections are very common after a course of antibiotics, especially yeast infections. The fungal infections generally are cured very fast and efficiently with a systemic ( pill you ingest) anti-fungal. Uncontrolled fungal infections can lead to bacterial infections that cause either the removal of your implant or become septic. Fluconozole is my choice for fungal infections. For those of you with wives you can relate to this. Remember how your wife always has a yeast infection after being on antibiotics?

Just saw your post Tay. I've had prescriptions for the Ketonozole creme for years and found it useless in these cases. Interesting he gave you an antibiotic too. What were the indications for an antibiotic?

I know this is a VERY OLD (3 years) thread that just got revived but re-reading the OP's story of getting a rash after implant and after revision makes me think that he was having a reaction to the antibiotic that was used on the implants.

FaithTerry the lasers don’t work for that, older docs push it for fungal nails because they bought into the laser fad 20 years ago and are stuck with a useless laser but they can get patients to pay cash for it. oral lamisil is the way to go.
