So, hello, guys. I've been posting here for a while, both in general discussion and here on the injections topic. I'm only 21 and searching fo a cure for my ED. I finally found a good doctor and I'm doing all the exams, hard week so far. Everything points to an implant, I'm willing to avoid the option for now because still don't have that kind of money. I am still to know if injections can work for me, it will take some time to return to the doctor. My question for all of you is: For how many years did it work for you guys?
I ask this because, if it comes to the injections, I'll have to use them at least until I get enough money for an implant, so I'm planning ahead. I thank all the answers and help you all been giving me here.

About 5 so far.
R.R.P 2011 Mayo Jacksonville, Dr. M. Wehle. Not nerve sparing. C in margins. Radiation 2023, V.E.D, Viagra and PGE-1 (80mcg/ml) injections @ 8 - 14 units. Originally Edex20, then compounded PGE due to cost. Inject. 12 yrs. It works. Treasure coast of FL.

Zero for me - no dosage or mixture of Caverject, Edex or trimix gave me any response at all. This was after Viagra worked well for several years.
Dave, 80, Maryland - Implant (Titan) 2008 by Dr. Andrew Kramer (failed Sept 2020) - never used due to a stroke that, among other things, ended my sex life.

Every time since 2010. Not too shabby.
Born 1948, wed 1969. BPH & Type II Diabetes at age 35. TURP-2002; ED even before that--diabetes. Cardiac valve surgery: 2007 & 2019. Poor results with pills. Started trimix injections in Nov, 2010. Great results from the very beginning.

Well for me it works to good or not at all. Just this morning I injected 7 units and the hard on lasted 5 hours. the last 2 hours were excruciating pain. I think I will quit using it. The first hour is sure a lot of fun though. I have been injecting for about three years and it has never been reliable for me. I have tried three different mixes at $120 per 5 milliliter bottle.
77 years old, married 58 years. Had ED for the last 10 years or so.
May 2nd, 2018 Coloplast Titan implanted, 24cm with 1cm RTE's. All went well so far.

Thanks for the replies everyone! So, the way you guys talk, like "it lasts that many hours", does it mean the erection subsists after ejaculation? Because girls seem to like "going many times". I don't know about that to tell you the truth. But I'm young, maybe they expect that I'm able to go many times.

Rancherejim: If your erection lasts too long, that translates to "you're using too much happy juice". Try lowering the dosage. If your erection lasts long enough to cause real pain, then take sudafed. In the meantime, take sudafed, wrap Mr Happy in a warm towel, and pace. (Not a cold towel--the warm towel prompts blood flow--out.) Don't sit in a position where the chair seat is putting pressure on the internal portion of the erect penis--that just restricts the outward flow of blood much like a cock ring. Lie flat on your back on tilted way back in your favorite Dad Chair.
Ultimately, if you are not satisfied with the results of the injection protocol, have a chat with your urologist. Begin with: "this is not an acceptable outcome." And go from there.
Here's to hard times.

caninoespacial: I'll answer your question by relating my experiences. First of all, my first shot (30 units in the doctor's office) was way too much. That bad boy sprang to life without any visual or manual stimulation and didn't subside for 4 or 5 hours. Problem was, wifey was at work and I had only myself to share it with. Aside: I called the clinic just before closing time and asked the nurse if i could give myself another shot after my wife got home. Her answer was one for the ages: "Oh, no, child! You do NOT want to do that! You've waited this long; give it one more day." So the first shot I gave myself was just 2 units and that did just fine. I experimented with the dosage (up and down) to find the requisite amount for everything from a quickie (meaning being able to get dressed soon after) to an epic Trifecta Erection that can only be described as "I'm 19 again without any of the stupid. Thank, you God!" After some time and more experience, I also found the magic spot where I could have an erection, do my business, and then go on to sleep or whatever. By "magic spot", I mean the point where I can allow the erection to fade, but can resurrect that sucker with a little stimulation.
So take from all that what you can. One key element of my success, I believe, has been that I am not shy about having direct and specific conversations with my urologist (or any of my medical team, actually). These guys understand the biology and chemistry of all this and either know the answers to my questions or they know someone who does. That would be my advice to any newbie.

My Handle says it all. I used injections for more than 10 years. More than 1500. Always successful. After my second battle with Prostate Cancer, and 35 radiation treatments. I reached a point where a full syringe was barely getting it done an thus the implant. As well as the shots worked for me, they cannot compare with an implant. Hardness, duration, and most of all spontaneity are all better than with the shots. However if I could have continued the success I would have stayed with them.
Age 75 Implanted by Dr. Andrew Kramer 03/22/2017. AMS 700 LGX 18 CM with 2 Cm RTE for a total of 20 CM. Previously used injections over 1000 no scarring
