Revisions

Hey brothers,

Still in the process of information-gathering. I've tried to find the answer to this and I'm sure it's variable but ball-park figures and time-spans would be great.

Being 33, if I were to get an implant I would likely need revision(s) surgery in the future.

From the point an implant fails, how long is it usually until reimplantation or revision can be completed? I guess what I'm getting at is, how long might it be until you're back up and running.

And finally, I'm assuming the cost implications are lower?

Thank you, guys!

Cost is anyone's guess. For me from detection of failure to revision was 8 weeks, could have been 4 except for insurance matters.

After 12 years my implant wore out in 2014 and needed to be replaced. My excellent urologist told me this in April 2014 (he talked like he meant to do it immediately, to help me out). I told him I was going on Medicare in September (when I turned 65), so could we wait till then? He said sure, and in September 2014 I was "back up and running!" :D
