Hi, I am a 22 year old Korean male with erectile dysfunction. I think the only remedy left in my condition is a penile implant.(because even trimix doesn't work for me.)
I'm going to graduate from university, get a job, collect my money and get my surgery within four to five years.
I found a number of doctors who specialize in implant surgery in Korea.
I want to ask you about one of them.
He is big implant doctor with more than 100 operations per year.
In Korea, there are fewer doctors who have more than 100 op per year compared to the US.
that is, he is one of the best doctors in Korea.
He said his infection rate was 0.6%, and that a significant number of his own surgeries were revisions surgery for patients who had been operated on at other hospitals.
But there's something I'm really worried about.
It looks like he's exaggerating something.
First, he says that durability of implant is long enough to allow the implant to make an 20,000-30,000 times erections because pump did not break down until half a million pump squeezes in field test and 500,000 squeezing can allow 30,000 times erection.
He says, 'You can use it in 10 to 15 years' is a thing of the past.
it's mean I can get erection every day for 80 years!!
I can't believe this....
Second, he promotes the center of excellence he received from Coloplast as if it is very honarable thing.
But here in franktalk, i found that the center of excellence is just a sales designation.
Also, I can find the story of man who was butchered by a doctor who received a center of excellence.
He is pupil of the US implant doctor steven wilson(Someone write bad experience with him on franktalk....)
And he seems to be interacting with Dr.Bruce garber in US.
What do you think about him?
What do you think of this surgeon in Korea?

I only have the ability to answer the question of longevity. Dr Eid is arguably the most widely respected high volume implant surgeon, and he would not give a definitive answer on longevity. He did say that he has had some last 20 years, and that it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect it to last 10 years. When it comes down to it though, no one knows how long today's implants will last. However I do think 80 years is an irresponsible expectation to set for a young patient. If I were you, I would go into this expecting multiple revisions over your lifetime.

I think he gave you unrealistic outlook. I know they can last several years. My first was installed November 2013 my revision is scheduled for tomorrow morning. The doctors assistant just called and said they would be using Titan again. It's suppose to have a warranty but I think just the device itself is covered because I have insurance and it's still costing me about 3500 dollars.
Good luck! I would do the revision every year if I had too....it sucks not being able to get an erection...depressing.

I just had an AMS 700 LGX (21cm + 1cm RTE) done in GNH Hospital, New Dehli by Dr Raman Tanwar (Urologist and Andrologist)..high volume implant guy with international experience, and all seems well so far...'medical tourism' of course and total bill was $14,500 (including full blood-work and CT & MRI full body scans)...cheers
63 year old single guy, battled ED since late 40 y/o (spinal-pelvic injury). Had an AMS 700 LGX (21cm + 1cm RTE) fitted on 23rd Sept 2017 (Dr. Tanwar at GNH hospital - medical tourism) and all going well so far ...on a new bionic 'journey'
