Time to Commit, or Not

Postby warrenw » Wed Oct 04, 2017 7:39 pm

I got a call from Dr Eid's office today with a choice of two surgery dates in December. So this week I need to commit to the date and make travel arrangements, or just do nothing. I feel this sense of dread and uncertainty now that decision time is really here. Plus I'm reading about all the pain and recovery issues in the recent threads. And never having had any surgery for anything is another scary thing to contemplate.

I wrote this in another thread with no reply, but this is still how I feel. Still looking for advice or encouragement.

I have personal thoughts about what I'm doing everyday, usually first thing in the morning. It feels a bit like "buyer's remorse", I'm worried about the side effects of the implant and how that could affect my life. I'm sure the relief from ED will be profound, but I don't know how significant the side effects will be. I hope I'm not heading down a oneway path where the results will be uncomfortable and bothersome everyday. I guess what I'm saying is I don't want to regret what I'm about to do, even though the ED will be cured, will it be worth it to me? I hope the answer is yes, but I still think about it.

Hi Warren. If you have hesitations about scheduling, it sounds to me like you are not ready. It took me a while to warm up to the idea of an implant, but after a lot of research, I moved forward. I am 16 days post op and have no regrets at this point. Some guys have more pain than others. I really didn't have pain. I would call it discomfort. I am just getting to the point where I have healed enough that I am able to get a sense of how much I am going to enjoy my new and improved penis. What finally got me to schedule the surgery was knowing my oenis was continuing to let me down and it was not going to get better on its own. I want to make love to my wife again and it wasn't going to happen without the implant. It will still be a few weeks until my surgeon wants me to attempt to have sex, but I have gently masturbated and am very pleased with the intensity of my orgasms. We are all different and you can only take the leap when you are ready for it. Best wishes.

Hi Warren. I am in the same boat as you. I have entertained the idea of an implant since about 2012. Yes, 2012. I have been on this site for a few years. I have researched the heck out of this procedure. I have probably have about 100 pages of research organized into about 15 folders. I am a bit compulsive. Anyway, when you are ready YOU WILL know. You just will. That moment came to me a few months ago. I am going to be 49 years old in December. I have had ED since about 12 years ago. Way too long to go untreated. Well...as luck would have it...now that I am ready to schedule the surgery3 people in my family need more urgent surgeries than mine. So I must postpone for a bit. GOD's playing a little joke on me LOL.

I thought your post was a good one. Keep asking questions and stay connected to FrankTalk. Frank (Vagabond127)

Vagabond,
That is heartbreaking that you finally made the decision to move forward and now you have to wait due to unforeseen circumstances. Patience is not always easy, but as the phrase goes, good things come to those who wait. I started having ED at age 30 and just got my implant 16 days ago at 61. It was so frustrating dealing with a dick that didn't cooperate. It seems so unfair that some of us have to go through that, but there are always people who are worse off. I hope your other family members come through their medical situations with flying colors so you get your chance soon.

Hi Warren:

I understand how difficult the decision can be. There are so many stories of problems here on franktalk that I too would likely be pretty scared. I think that you need to realize that 90 percent of implant patients are "satisfied". We do not read about them in general here on franktalk because the natural evolution for the satisfied patient is that they eventually realize that they have been cured of ED, and they stop visiting franktalk because they have moved on to live a fine and fulfilling sex life without issues.

For me, this is exactly what is happening. I am 8 months after surgery by Dr Eid. I am 100% satisfied. I am "free" to think about things other than my ED since the implant has truly cured me. My posts here to franktalk have decreased since I am cured and have moved on.

My feeling of self worth and feeling of being a "totally potent strong male" are really awesome to have now that I have a great implant.

Last month, there was a thread by someone who encountered a site on the internet listing all the complications of implants. there was a great discussion, but I remember a simple comment from Catman which really held true:

LMCatman once stated : it is "how bad do you want it ?"

Before surgery, I spoke to a number of Dr Eid's patients , and one of them stated, "you know, before surgery I decided that I just do not want to go out like this" In other words, the guy meant that life was becoming meaningless without sex and that he just couldn't see facing the prospect of living life and eventually dying wihtout being able to have sex. So he opted for the nuclear option of an implant , and now he is glad he did it.

I, too, felt confident about making the decision to have the surgery because I had no other options. I too can completely understand the simple statement of Catman "How bad do you want it." For me, I wanted sex really really bad, and I was willing to take risks and pain to get it.

Today, I am 100% satisfied. I have a really awesome dick that works every time and performs like superman. When I walk into the bedroom, I have 100% confidence in my ability to sexually perform like a stud.

Yes, I remember being scared when walking to the surgery center that cold morning in February. I remember the sleepless nights before surgery thinking about the troubles with implants some have reported. But here was my mantra for using when you approach the surgery date:

"Don't be a pussy, hold your head up high, standup and fight that beast called "erectile dysfunction" like a man" ---- TANGERINE
"Strive to find the best surgeon--experience really matters"
(63 yo, Titan 22cm implant Feb 2017 by Dr Eid) I'm super pleased with my length/girth/implant performance. See my story at "The road to becoming a bionic male: Answers ..."
