GREG1956 4 week post-op update

Postby Greg1956 » Tue Oct 17, 2017 8:53 pm

I had my activation appointment this morning. It was somewhat anti-climactic since I had already activated, but great nonetheless. Dr. Anglade pumped me to a fuller erection than I had done and I had no pain at all. I am now free to resume my regular activities, but he wants me to wait one more week before having sex with my wife.

There is so much discussion here at FT about using a high volume surgeon for your implant. I will confess I never asked Dr. Anglade how many implant surgeries he has done. I know he is not high volume. He did my Prostatectomy and it was a textbook case of everything going perfectly. I had none of the typical side effects.

When it came time to have implant sugery I did not go to anyone else. I simply asked him, "Are you as good at implants as you were with my prostate surgery?" and he said yes. For me it is far more about trust and relationship than high volume. I did talk to two men who he had implanted and both were again textbook examples and they would do it all over again with him.

My surgery went extremely well. I only took one pain pill when I got home from the hospital and my only reason for taking it was because I thought it might help me sleep better than without it. I never had the swelling other guys talk about. I had read about scrotums the sizes of oranges and grapefruits, but mine stayed its usual size. Granted, I have a smaller scrotum and testicles than many of you so that may have been why my situation was different. I had a very minimal amount of discoloration or bruising and it disappeared quickly.

Most guys are worried about losing penile length and quite a few on here talk about their disappointment with their post-operative length. Dr. Anglade leveled with me and said not to expect anything more than my stretched flaccid length. Right out of the gate the first time I pumped up it was already longer than that. Since then I have gained a fraction more and with my AMS LGX I have potential to gain more as I cycle and use it. I can wish all I want to that my penis wax as big as it was when I was younger, but I am realistic and very pleased and encouraged with what I have.

I also had a scrotal web removed during the implant surgery. For those who are not familiar with the term, my scrotum connected to my penis about an inch and a half up my shaft. When my penis was longer, it wasn't so obvious, but as it shrank, it really made my erection seem even shorter. Any post-implant discomfort I had was pretty much a result of the stitches on the underside of my penis rubbing against the stiches on the front of my scrotum where they were cut apart.

So, I can tell you first hand I feel like a true success story and I did not use a high volume implant surgeon. For those of you who are contemplating an implant, it is more about the quality of the surgeon than how many surgeries he/she has performed. I would equate it to McDonalds serving billions and billions of burgers, but the small gourmet burger restaurant providing a better burger and experience. More isn't always better, although I know the high volume implant surgeons have achieved that level because they are good.

Dr. Anglade wants to see me one more time in two months and then this chapter will be behind me unless there are any future issues. I am very grateful for having had this great surgical experience after so many years of misdiagnosis and treatment plans that did not work. In one week I will be back in the saddle!

I hope all of you who are planning to have implant surgery will have the same level of success I have had. Best wishes.

Smetro,
I have had a signature since I joined months ago so I am not sure what you are wanting me to do. Please clarify.

I had a couple guys send me private messages asking how many pumps it took for me to achieve a full erection. My answer was 15. This morning when I pumped up i got 16.5 pumps in. As the cylinders are doing their job, I expect the number of pumps will continue to increase for awhile.

There have been a number of positive posts here regarding Dr. Anglade. The claim that only 3 or 4 surgeons are capable of delivering outstanding results is highly exaggerated. Saying that Dr Kramer, Eid, Karpmann, Perito, or whoever is likely to give you a superior result is not to say that nobody else can. Dr. Kramer did mine, but I went to him at the suggestion of my internist and did no research of my own. He's a great doctor, with outstanding skills and a great manner - I'd recommend him to anyone, but he's not the only game in town.
Dave, 80, Maryland - Implant (Titan) 2008 by Dr. Andrew Kramer (failed Sept 2020) - never used due to a stroke that, among other things, ended my sex life.
Life is not the way it's supposed to be, it's the way it is.

Greg, you said that you also had scrotal web removed during the implant surgery. Is that common with implant operations? Is it a minor addition to the implant surgery? Do you know if most implant surgeons will do this? I have the same issue and would want this done if/when I decide to get an implant. Thanks.
60 yrs old. Gradually worsening ED for 10 years. Pills and trimix not working well anymore. Will need an implant in the near future.
