HERE IS YOU A NEW ONE

Postby backup2014 » Mon Oct 30, 2017 8:19 pm

I had my revision surgery 12 days ago. Been a rough few days but I will get over it. I'm not the guy that has an implant, takes 2 Tylenols and plays 18 holes of golf 3 days later. And then makes love to his wife like he was 21 again in the first week. No not me, I still hurt 12 days later and plan on hurting 12 days from now. I guess I'm just a girlie man. But the nurse made this statement the night of the surgery. Those other four guys are crying out for pain meds, you must have a high tolerance for pain. I laughed out load and said give me drugs NOW!!! Here's the new issues, I noticed a few days ago I had a lump in my left groin area. Not in the scrotum where the twins are and their new baby brother we like to call the Pump. This is where you would normally find a hernia or a tumor. I kind of of knew what it was but I didn't want to admit it. So I called my doctors office today and ask his nurse if he was available. She said he was busy but would text him if I let her know the problem. I did and she did, she called back and confirmed my fear. He said I had too much scar tissue where the other reservoir was and that he had to place it in the groin. Has anyone heard of such a thing?? Does it work in that area?? Oh man this is upsetting? I don't return to the doctor for my first pump up till Nov the 20th. Any encouragement would help, no matter how little. LOL

It's been awhile since my surgery but I believe that my surgeon told me that is where he had to place my reservoir. It is slightly off center though. I had surgery for two hernias in the past with mesh. Dr. didn't want to get too near that. I had a second incision just above my penis about 2 inches.
I have had no problems with it being there and it works fine.

Thanks Shopman. I hope it works, it just doesn't feel right in my groin.

I had my implant at about the same time as you. I'm on day 13 now. Yea, it hurt - a lot. But I only took a couple oxys as they made me nauseous. I've been taking Motrin pretty steady. Often I had to keep track of the time so I knew when it was ok to take the next one. I still take one occasionally. I still can't walk normally or wear street clothes. I'm still having pain and have yet to be activated. Sitting and getting up and down cause me pain in my right lower pubic area between the top of my testicle to just above the scrotum. I used a donut to sit on until today. I have to lean back on my tailbone when I sit. My pump is high and feels like it's attached to my right testicle. If I try to pull on it, I am rewarded with a sharp pain in the same area I described earlier. The Dr. says it's just going to take time and I'm sure (hope) he's right. Maybe I'm just a 71-year old sissy. But, I'm sure looking forward to better times.

"I've been taking Motrin pretty steady." I don't understand why you don't take Naproxen instead of Motrin. They do the same thing but Naproxen lasts twice as long.
