CX vs LGX Pump

The pump with the AMS CX implant is a different pump thsn is available with the AMS LGX. Anyone know why? Anyone able to say what difference it makes to the user?

Yes. No answer from customer svc . She does answer emails, but no information and promised contacts have never followed through.

Besides, i suspect FT members may have better information to share (fromactual experience) than sales reps. I hope.

I've had both and each time my pump was exactly the same.In both cases I was implanted with the momentary squeeze pump or more commonly known as the one touch pump.Ams had an older style pump that was replaced by the one touch,possibly that is what you may be referring to.

I agree. I do not know where that information came to this forum, and became law. I currently have a Titan, but I have had implanted LGX and CX before, and neither AMS Reps nor surgeons have validated that assertion. Actually, they have said to me that there is no difference between them. There is no reason to be different. And I recall checking on their literature, and both pumps have the same item number.

So, is this just a case that because it is in the internet it is true?

I asked my doctor what difference was before implant and he said they were the same

I read it in a medical journal paper. I don't knows the date, but most of the journal papers on line are a few years old, it may have been true once, but no longer true. Or, the author made a mistake.

Could be. The best way to just debunk or confirm is to go to the AMS site, check the item numbers of both pumps. If they are the same, then it is just a FTUM (Franktalk Urban myth).
