Update

We got to hospital at 12 Tuesday and went back at 12:30, got IV started and antibiotics and Dr Hakky came in at 1:15 and stayed til 1:45 talking to wife and I, great doctor, wheeled into OR at 2:15 and a lot of activity, nurse asked if I was ready for some happy juice and I said bring it on, couple minutes later I asked when is this stuff......that’s all I remember, woke up in recovery and was told all went well, then moved to room, then I heard the sweetest voice, wife came in and I gave her a big hug and kiss. Dr Hakky met her after surgery and said it went well but complicated as most surgeries are 35-40 minuets mine took an hour and a half, he put in an AMS CX in, had to cut a muscle to get reservoir in place, he did take a video of surgery so I’ll look at it later on sometime.
Wife went back to hotel at 8 as I was nodding off, nurses were great.
11 I asked for pain meds, BP at 12, changed ice packs at 1, 2 BP, temp done again, 3 another dose of pain meds, all is well, 4 it’s time to get blood drawn, 5 my nurse comes in and says it’s time to take catheter out and I’m thinking Oh No, but she was really good, then she says I need to walk.....when?....now!!!....so slowly and painfully I get up and out we go, no one in hallway and really quiet. I’m thinking this isn’t so bad....actually it was good to get up and move around and made it back to room and my wonderful bed.....then the throbbing started, my dick and abdomen both going off at the same time, no pain meds tho, just ice.
6:30 breakfast and I was starving, nurse comes back in at 7 and reminded me to pee ASAP as I won’t be discharged until I pee at least twice on my own.
7:30 wife comes in and we are happy to see each other.
All in all I feel great, no pain just soreness and no pain meds.
I brought with me a large bottle of Tart Cherry Juice and do me it definitely works, it works almost immediately and takes away some of the soreness and inflammation, I have another bottle that I will start on this am. I’m ready to make my great escape from here....first I have to start peeling......

Rest, ice, rest, rest, repeat. You may have a rough couple of days, but all will improve (slowly, probably) over time.

I’m really thankful for all the research available on FT, the support, and messages. I’m taking it a day at a time and also realizing that I have a long way to go towards healing and recovery, I know I still have a lot of pain meds in me that haven’t worn off, but I honestly feel really good at this point and Definitely Made the Right Decision

Continue taking the drugs. "Toughing it Out" is just stupid... The good Lord put scientists put on this planet to invent shit to make and keep us pain free... our only job is to take it and enjoy life pain free.

As said by others. Take it slow, take pain meds when you need them.
Trying to be tough is definitely not necessary, but taking them when you're not in pain is also not helpful.

I for one puke on just about any pain med so my recovery will be interesting (whenever I schedule my surgery).

24 hours after surgery,saw Dr Hakky’s assistant who came in and unwrapped me, he was amazazed at how good it looked,I have no swelling, no bruising or discoloration, pump is in a good place, no pain just sore where he cut muscle, I’m pink all over, an excellent surgeon with a very difficult surgery, on a scale of 1-10 I was 9.5, I have 2 pancreas 3 kidneys and a new dick and feeling great after two days from surgery
Please don’t refer me to being stupid just because I’m not experiencing pain!!!!
