8 weeks post op -- here are a few of my issues:
* I regularly felt the "pop" when starting to pump. At 7 weeks though, I met with my doctor and he showed me how to fully deflate which I had been struggling with (basically I just needed to squeeze the sides of the penis much more than I had been doing). In any case, since then (don't know if it's related to the deflate experience) there's no "pop" sensation on inflate. It seems to inflate just fine, but I don't have the "pop". Should I be concerned? I'm too new at this to know if pumping is harder now without the pop than before with it.
* I was pumping with trying to fully deflate the bulb, but my doctor did more of a quick squeeze (he called it a burst). It is impossible for me to know exactly what he was doing, ha, but if I replicate what I think he was doing it is more of just a quick hard press that I would guess does about a 30% bulb deflation. It does pump up quickly with his method so I suppose this method is fine, just curious about others' techniques.
* A possibly odd issue is that if I pump quickly, like a quick burst every second, the bulb stays firm, but if I wait a few seconds or more in between pumps, the bulb goes totally soft, and if I then immediately release and then immediately pump again it's back to firm. My gut instinct is that the "soft" bulb wouldn't do anything (ie. isn't pumping really) but again, doing the quick release and immediately pump the bulb seems to work and add more fluid to the cylinders. This seems odd and just wondering if I should be concerned.
* I've been pumping up once or twice a day -- I am a bit stumped though that sometimes when I pump it up it is significantly longer than other times by maybe a 1/4" or slightly more. I would think it would be consistent but sometimes it is just under 5" (from fat pad) and other times almost at 5 1/4ths". I'm sure variables like blood flow (ie. stimulation) can affect this, but seems to vary more than I would expect.
* Here's a tip that seems to work for me --
I noticed that when the penis is flaccid, if I point it down, it will have a natural bend in it -- you know, the drooping downward look of any flaccid penis. If I pump it, it will get hard, but retain a bit of that bend, so like a mild upside down bowl shape. Same thing if the flaccid penis was pointing a bit more to the left or right, kind of on one side or the other of the zipper, it will retain that mild bend when I pump it up. So now, before inflating I point it upward for a brief time, it then has a better shape -- totally straight like an arrow, and has a better angle (3:00 or so, rather than 3:45 if it was pointing down when flaccid). Maybe this is just because all the parts are still new and stiff? Anyone else notice this?
Thanks in advance!

ED since 35 with no known cause -- injections successful for over a decade with 10/1/30 and less than 20units but that became ineffective. Implanted penoscratally by Dr. Kramer of Baltimore on 9/13/17 with AMS 700 LGX 21cm + 0.5cm RTE at 47 years old

Thanks Airwolf for sharing your experience, here are my comments:
"It seems to inflate just fine, but I don't have the "pop". Should I be concerned?"
It is easier to inflate after the pop. If you don't get a pop, then it means either that you're not deflated completely or you need to squeeze harder.
" It does pump up quickly with his method so I suppose this method is fine, just curious about others' techniques."
This does not work for me. I had to do a squeeze and wait for 1 second "one Mississippi"
" am a bit stumped though that sometimes when I pump it up it is significantly longer than other times by maybe a 1/4" or slightly more."
Don't worry. Sometime I have the same thing.
Thanks
Matt

Try pushing the deflate button hard. You can feel it catch and that will work as an auto deflate. You can actually deflate completely at that point without even squeezing your penis. Then you always get the "pop". I have the ams700lgx. Takes practice. Good luck !

I have mixed feelings about the implant... I can't wait for the day when I can please my wife sexually but I am dreading the inflate/deflate of the pump. It sounds so complicated and then throw into the mix that it seems that each member has their own way to make it do what they want it to do...

It softens up and becomes more user friendly as time goes on. Its trying things and getting used to it. It will all b fine Larry. It really just takes time. It comes down to being the last and best option. And after time its really not a bad option. But it will never take the place of nature !
