No Feeling At All After Implant
No Feeling At All After Implant
I will be 63 in May. In the last 7 years I've been celibate, had sex 1 time with no orgasm and fought peyronies for over a year and a half with the help of doctors at my local V.A. Hospital. After finally getting that "straightened out" I found out I had ED. So, after a few months, it was suggested that I get a penile implant. The V.A. uses the Titan OTR. The implant surgery was nearly finished but had to be aborted because one of the doctors pushed the tube into the tissue which caused excessive bleeding. As soon as I was able, another surgery was scheduled for this last September. Lots of PAIN! But I tried the surgery again. Everything is working with the implant but I don't have any feeling in the head of my penis. This is discouraging because I can't feel anything. Now what do I do??? It's been a very frustrating 4 years in total, to say the least. I have kept my wife satisfied, but one day it HAS to be my turn!! Any suggestions on getting the feeling back? And by the way, I lost about half of my penis size--very discouraging. My wife and I have been married 2 years and would really like to consummate our relationship. Would appreciate your help.
Age 62. Had Titan OTR implant September, 2011.

Hi Gary-I'm glad you re-posted here, I think you will get more response. I would encourage daily inflation and "massage" of your choice to promote blood flow. Lets hope some other guys can pitch in with more ideas.
Merry Christmas and best wishes!

I'm wondering who your surgeon was... My implant was a VA job with a Titan OTR at the Salisbury hospital. That said, I lost most of the feeling in my penis as well. I found that using very warm water with a power massage shower head for 15 minutes twice daily (takes a lot of time) on the glans mostly restored most of the sensation in my glans. Also it takes some men (ME) a very long time to heal, and as time marches on, mine gets better every day.
FYI - you also (even with some regained feeling) need to understand that for most men, sensations are very different than before and you need a lot of practice and mental retraining to make it happen again. That's how it was for me anyway. Keep practising, masturbating the best you can, massaging, water therapy, and anything else you can thing of until it happens.
For me, I locked myself in the room with lots of porn and pumped away, then one day it worked. I had to start off learning how to masturbate with a fairly limp penis (I had more feeling that way), the gradually adding inflation pressure each couple of days until I was finally cumming with a fully inflated penis.
Then I had to learn to not use so much porn, and use less gripping pressure (a vagina can't choke your chicken like your hand can). It took a lot of practising and using mental imagery. Then finally it was just me and the wife. I orgasm ALMOST every time now, and when I don't it's generally because something (noises, kids, phones, etc...) else ruins the mood. Keep working at it and see what happens.

NCSMOKIES, I believe that sensitivity will return to your penis. I was completely insensitive on the left side of my shaft. When I mentioned this to my MD, he said that he was surprised that this area was insensitive as insensitivity usually happened in the glans, if I recall his statement correctly. My shaft feels great now, so may you need a little more time as I did. Best wishes. Hankthedog, ariadne
