Hi defiant,

I am also from London and under care at UCLH, so am on NHS treatment. I have had testosterone replacement therapy, CBT, tried the pills and injections and also had a dorsal vein ligation. None of them have helped my ED. I am 27 y/o and these issues have been going on since I was 20 where for no reason my erections stopped working. I also had a doppler which revealed a VL and two weeks ago had the night time study. Only now will the NHS consider it appropriate for me to pursue the implant, having exhausted treatment options

Hope that info is useful. PM me anytime
30 yo based in UK. ED for 9Y & complex med history. Tried pills, injections, dorsal vein ligation before implanted with 20cm Titan on 31-May-18. First implant had floppy glans + bad tubing. On 28-Aug-20 underwent a revision to 20cm Titan + 4cm RTEs

Doesn’t make it right, though, does it Larry.

I don’t know, we’ll all have different opinions on that but yes, such behaviour is a huge slap in the face and basically tells you that you are not good enough. So I made the mistake.

And now, with all of the above history, my mind the way it is, I don’t see what the way forward is.

I’m going to book an appointment with Dr David Ralph who is the leader in this field in Europe by most accounts. How long can I go on living like this?

I don’t want to be judged but I was very foolish and started seeing another woman as my gf/ex now made it clear she was going back home to her own country after two years of seeing one another plus the fact that over those two years I had given 75% of the effort she was very withheld for the majority.

There is no excusing it I know. Just reasons.

I feel a fool as she found out about it (a 10 day thing with no sexual intercourse; just one kiss and several dates, I know, that’s more than enough) just as we were turning a corner and seemed to be getting somewhere.

Fate. I guess.

Sorry to hear that. I have to admit, if my gf says she is returning to her home country, that tells me she is moving on, so I would too.

Thank you for this, mate.

That is very useful information but at the same time very disheartening.

I don’t believe that treatment options should be so rigid as pills to pellets to injections to pumps to implants.

Do they not understand how detrimental such actions are to one’s state of mind? Taking injections into the penis at such a young age, most likely causing damage along the way. Putting pumps onto their penises. And all sorts.

If women can be granted breast implants for cosmetic reasons on the NHS then men should be given the option of restoring their manhood fully via mechanical routes, obviously following strict psychological counselling regarding said implantations and their effects.

Star of Pramen, I’d love to get your number and maybe chat about all of this. PM me if you’re amenable to it!

My insurance covered my implant back in 2002 even though I had not tried every alternative first (I tried MUSE suppositories and didn't like them, wasn't interested in other devices or injections, couldn't take pills because of a heart condition). Your urologist may be able to talk with your insurance plan for you. Just a thought.

Hi David,

Thank you for sharing.

Well I’m from the UK and we have free universal healthcare for all in this country which we see as our greatest national asset. I know that this is a sticky topic in the American political sphere.

That aside, many of us do of course have private insurance. I don’t. Not right now. I had it and then didn’t renew it and then I got the lymphoma I speak of. Luckily, the NHS saved my life.

So now getting insurance would probably be a fortune. But I may look into it. In the end we all see the same doctors, it’s just how quickly. If cancer or something equally serious is suspected, that person will be fast tracked.

I would like them to take into account my very unstable psychological state; having had to deal with this for over a decade, going through cancer, having the fear of relapse, family tragedy and so on. Plus this fact that as I’ve said, these are the make or break years.

I need a full physical assessment from this doctor first of course and then we can take it from there I guess!

Defiant;
I think when you get you ED issued fixed, you will be a lot more confident and your entire outlook will change for the better and you will start loving life again. You gotta hold on and book that appointment for the implant. :)

Before I had mine done I explored the possibility of going through my medical insurance to get it done privately but all the advise I was getting told me that UCLH was the best place locally to have the procedure, so mine was done on the NHS.
I didn’t try pumps and I only tried injections once. Now it’s 15 pumps and i’m anybody’s, shame nobody wants me :D

Bob!

This is fantastic news.

Don’t worry so much. Your lady will come along and then, well... let’s just say...

World rocked, mind, blown!

Would you be up for a short chat? Or perhaps meeting up? Or talking on WhatsApp? I have a multitude of questions for you and would love to hear about your experience with Dr Ralph.

Hi after 20plus years of all the same things in this thread I am also booking my surgery with dr Ralph. London. Quite a decision although hope must win over the weight of years of mind stress.
Now Implanted 9/12/17. 52 years old with ED for over 20 years. Tried all the pills and injections. Update. Implanted with Titan 22 + 1. by DR Ralph Dec 9th London. Now in recovery and at 3 months feeling the journey was worth the pain.

I don't think they insist they you try pellets or pumps... just pills and injections.
