Well, it sounds like you're making progress. That's good.
I agree, you should get a fairly good erection without stimulation but stimulation should help too.
I really think you should get some finer needles. I love my 31 gauge. At least try some 30 gauge.
Why would you need bigger needles to draw up the meds. That sounds more like TRT meds. Are we sure we're all on the same page here? I draw up my meds with the same 31 gauge needle I inject it with.
A small drop of blood upon withdrawing the needle is, I believe, normal for some people. I expect it's also, at least partially, due to using the larger gauge needle.
If you work up to .5ml I think I'd ask for a stronger mix so you can inject less volume. That said, when using Edex I would inject a whole ml so.....
Keep it up, you'll get there.
PS: Edit to add that if minimal medication is a major goal you may want to let the idea of a mild constriction ring enter your mind. They might help reduce the required amount of meds necessary. A fair number of men use them with or without ED. Some men wear them all day, but I don't quite get that concept. My wife likes me to use them when we play. On the other hand I'd hate to complicate the issue while your in such an early stage of getting it worked out.

On Insulin needles 10 units is .1 and so on. I think most guys use a 5/16 by 31 ga(smaller than 27) push it in till the plastic hub pushes against skin slightly. (get at any drug store) The tunica is hard when you hit it, you have to jab little deeper to pop through it. The smaller needle will help. If you stick part way through it the plunger will not push. Do NOT force the plunger. Bruising for me was when I did not get through the tunica. Hold pressure for 2 minutes after injection to stop bruising and bleeding. I have a 1 3/4 inch ved from amazon $28.00 and a silicon seal ( 6.00 amazon) that goes against the pubic area. I vac a nice erection then pull off the ved and leave the silicon sleeve. This keeps penis plump with veins more visible for better control of limp penis. Google the tunica so you know what you are dealing with. It is a hard wrapper envelopes the muscle you are injecting . I am not a doctor. Really i am newbie myself. ( 20 injections trying to find what works) This is what has worked for me. Good luck.
Seems like I am one who has pain. Just have to see if I'm in the 30% where it is sever when I reach a high enough dosage.
oldbeek if you don't mind me asking is your dose on trimix higher or lower than .35 ml (35 units, cc's)?

Newbie,
I edited my previous post with a PS you might want to take notice of.
However, the reason for this post is to note that many men that have pain find that it moderates substantially after they've become more experienced. Possibly from the tissues just getting accustomed to the meds but I don't know why.

I don't know why I have extra larger needles. Guess it makes somebody more money. But that's what I have and what my single page instruction sheet said to do. Maybe the stuff on top of my bottle needs the 22 gauge needle to go through it. Maybe the pharmacy (only one in town that makes trimix) uses those tops so they can sell the extra needles. I don't care as long as it works. The price is still much lower than pills. It was under $100 for the 5ml bottle and 10 syringes with 10 extra needles.
And yes there is a bit of improvement. But like they say close only counts in hand grenades and horseshoes. And I am not even close yet. I may have to wait to call around tomorrow on syringes. Tomorrow is a non injection day anyway.

Re: Hello from a newbie!
30 units of tri would give me a super hard that lasted 4 hrs. Pain level on scale of 0 to 10 was 15. Get the ice pack NOW pain. At 20 units still very hard with 15 pain. I have a slight dull pain with bimix also. Now I take 2 extra strength Tylenol 1/2 hr before injecting. I can tolerate 5 units of tri and need that much mixed with the bi to get a useable enjoyable erection. The PGE-1 does the heavy lifting is why I use a small dose of trimix with the bimix.

Wow, I don't think I'd like to use a 22 gauge needle for penile injections.
My T injection needles are 25 gauge.
If you have a Walmart pharmacy around you, they sell smaller diameter needles.
I guess I'm assuming you're in the US?

Hello Newbie,
Welcome to Frank Talk and welcome to the Brotherhood of Prick Stickers.
As you can see from my signature, I've been using Trimix for 7 years with consistent success. For what it's worth, I'll share my experience with you.
From the beginning, I've used BD Insulin Syringes "with the BD Ultra-Fine Needle". The specs of those syringes include: Barrel: 1 ml (100 units) capacity; Needle: 12.7 mm/0.5 inch length and 30 gauge. My Trimix formula has always been 20 PGE/30 PAP/1 PHE.
After 1 "show and tell" demonstration in the doctor's office, the guidelines from my urologist included: inject (no more often than) every other day and vary the dosage (up and down) until I discern the "just right" amount that gives me the erection I want for the length of time I want. The first injection (in the office) was 30 units--that turned out to be WAY too much. Pretty quickly, I figured out that 10 units gives me all I want and I can actually get by on less depending on my plans for the evening.
Other guidelines included: inject at 9:00 and 3:00; alternate sides; hold the syringe perpendicular to my penis; insert the needle all the way in; aspirate if needed, at least until I get the hang of it; and dispose of the used syringe properly. That sounds more or less like what you have been doing. After 7 years, I don't follow every single protocol every single time, but I place a lot of value on my favorite body part, so I pretty much do what he says.
One thing he told me to do that I don't believe you mentioned was to massage the Happy Juice into the CC by stroking/rubbing up and down the shaft--more or less spreading the medicine throughout the CC not only for optimum benefit but also to avoid lumps or nodules of juice hanging around in one spot. He also told me to insert the needle straight in and pull it straight out--to avoid bruising at the injection site.
I followed these guidelines to the letter, and still do, for the most part. The one thing I vary on is that I often don't skip a day.
After injection 5 or 6 times a week for several weeks, I confessed my "sins" to the uro. While he didn't/couldn't/shouldn't give me "official approval" to go rogue, he suggested that it was okay as long as I didn't have any issues, but still stressing that "every other day" is the accepted protocol.
I also discovered pretty early on that achieving a rock hard erection could be facilitated with visual and manual stimulation, especially when both are employed at the same time.
From what you've described, I can't help but think there may be something amiss with your injection technique. There should not be bleeding--certainly not more than a drop--and I don't think this should be painful. Whether you need a different mixture, a different formula, a different dosage, and/or better technique, I do not know. What I do know is that injections work like a charm for me and I hope you will achieve the same satisfactory results that I have.
Feel free to PM me any time if you have any questions.
All the best. Hard times!

Newbie,
How experienced is your doc with injections? When I started out I discovered later that my urologist was very inexperienced. As a result she started me out on a very weak formula. After that it took us several scripts to get it right. Your doc may be on the super cautious scale as well. Stay with it. You'll get there.

I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

The 22 are for drawing solution from the bottle only. The 27 comes off and the 22 goes on for drawing. After the dose is correct I switch back to the 22 to inject. Must be some tough stuff on the top of the bottle. Anyway sorry I edited that and left out important information.
Yes I am in the US. I have a Walgreens close, Walmart, Kroger, CVS, I will contact the place that mixed my solution about what they have and the reason for the 22 to draw solution.
