I was recently activated by Dr. Bruce Garber. This whole process of getting an implant started in July 2017 and without knowing it many of the people here on FT gave me the courage to take the first step and make an appointment with a well-regarded, high volume, urologist. Even as I made the call, I thought to myself I can always cancel it.

I remember leaving my first appointment with Dr. Garber with a sense of hope, all the while still having a lot of apprehension about taking this step. Dr. Garber conveyed a lot of confidence in his mild manner approach. He pretty much gets right to the point and doesn’t waste a lot of time on small talk. Before I knew it, I was scheduled for my penile Doppler test about 10 days later. On my next visit in mid-September, Dr. Garber told me the results of my test showed a blood flow problem which was causing my ED. Not especially a surprise to me, but nice to know it wasn’t all in my head.

I had been fighting ED since my mid-thirties. When Viagra came out it was a miracle cure for me. I was so happy it worked, but in the back of my mind was a nagging thought that I was going to build up some kind of tolerance and then it would quit working. Well sure enough as the years progressed I needed more and more until 100 mg had no effect on me at all. How depressing. I switched to Cialis after that and I had some limited success however its effectiveness waned too. After Cialis quit working, I tried injecting with Tri-mix. This worked, however the erections were painful and the process of sticking a needle in my penis wasn’t enjoyable either! Although I didn’t inject many times, the last time I did I wasn’t able to maintain a good erection. I think I tried to blame it on the mix being close to being expired.

Since, my last injection, my wife had 2 separate back surgeries and sex wasn’t really in the equation for us anyway. I however was still looking for an answer. I kept ordering all kinds of supplements and I was trying all kinds of combinations of supplements including using them with Cialis. Sometimes I would think I was on to something, but in the end none of it really worked reliably.

Well my wife’s back finally got better, but my problem was still there. I’ve always enjoyed fixing things myself and I was very frustrated that I couldn’t fix this. I explained that to Dr. Garber and he very confidently assured me that he could fix it.

In October, 2017, Dr. Garber implanted me with a Titan Genesis implant. My recovery has been very good. I only used Advil for pain and returned to work after 9 days. My pre-op length was approximately 6” and girth about 5 ½”. My initial post-op numbers are 5” and 5 ¼”. I say initial as I’m very hopeful and somewhat optimistic that over time, by cycling, I can improve on those numbers. The only real issue I have now is that my pubic pad area is still swollen. I asked Dr. Garber about and he said it will go down, however it may take a couple of months.

Time to go and throw out all those supplements I’ve been accumulating over the years!

Your situation resembles mine. I am eager to get an implant but have yet to hear from my surgeon.

Drop the Mike,
I pretty much could have written the parts of your post talking about your ED. It sounded all too familiar.

I have an AMS LGX Implant, but wanted to let you know that at 3 months post-op my erection is 1.5” longer than it was at first. It’s not that my implant has had a chance to stretch but that as I have healed it got more comfortable to give it more pumps. Be patient and you will probably get back your size.

Actually it is a Titan with Genesis pump. You can see it on Dr. Garber's web site. I changed my signature as to not confuse anyone. Thanks for pointing that out.

i have a titan with the genesis pump. my dr. seems to prefer that pump. says people have less problems with it.

My dr told me they were discontinueing the OTR because of complaints, so I guess that the new (old) pump

I do not understand english. can you explain why Kramer prefers the Genesis ?

Dr. Kramer just says he does not love the OTR and that the Genesis is a good pump. No explanation as to why. As Hugh says, the Genesis is the new "old" pump. All I know is that 6 months ago the only Titan I had familiarity with were the Tennessee Titans. I certainly wasn't picking out my pump. I put all my faith in my Doctor and that he would do what was best for me.
