I’m based in London, England.
So were you diagnosed with true VL in the end then? And what will your treatment be if so?
I’m seeing a couple of important problems or issues with the Ultrasound test:
1) Whether or not the patient should self-stimulate.
2) If there is no satisfactory response to caverject shot within a certain timeframe, the patient should be given more time to react.
ie: Patient Y is given the injection - 15 mins later he undergoes the test. He is nervous and stressed and does not react to the shot. He is not given the antidote and leaves only to have an erection lasting hours at home. By sending the patient away too soon, you have missed the reaction and thus given a false diagnosis.
