In my intro a few days ago I mentioned having had my first Caverject Injection and how wonderful it was.
Well yesterday I went for my second appointment with my Urology Nurse for a bit of instruction and to give the injection myself. Attaching the needle, mixing, priming etc. was no problem at all. Injecting me was not quite so easy…
I am left-handed and had I have realised the implications at the previous appointment I would have got the Urology Nurse to do the first injection that he did in the right side rather than left. Not quite ambidextrous yet, however I did inject myself - looking at the mark after I was slightly off from where he said but it went in and without any bruising.
It did work, not quite as well as his but as he said “practice makes perfect”. I remember the first few times I used my pump I just didn’t seem to have enough hands and now it’s second nature.
Up to now I have been injecting 5 micrograms and although it works the result is good but not a full erection. Next time he has told me to go to 7.5 micrograms and see how it goes.
I am hoping that next time at home, in the warm, relaxed place and using my left hand a eureka moment will happen.
Will keep you posted.

Re: Caverject - my turn to Inject
Welcome to the injectors club. I started in August feels great to be a teenager in bed again. Just remember to inject at 10:o'clock push the needle in slowly at a 90% angle to the shaft. You will feel the needle go in easily until it hits a slight resistance (the smooth muscle wall of the cc) and then it will go in easily again after it passes through the wall. When the hilt of the syringe hits the shaft skin, push it in a little more and depress the plunger. The liquid should flow in easily.
If the needle meets continued resistance or the liquid does not flow in easily, you have missed the mark and the needle is either embedded in the muscle wall of the cc or it has glanced off and the liquid did not make it into the cc.
Hope the above helps and good luck finding the perfect dosage for you.

Re: Caverject - my turn to Inject
Did my second Caverject Injection (7.5 micrograms) this morning.
With a little help from dtwarren1942 - thanks for the instructions. I hit the spot easily and within 3-4 minutes there he was in all his glory – ish. Slight ache in the shaft but nothing too bad.
Seriously, it was much better than the last injection, however this time the erection did not seem to go right to the head. Now an hour later although it’s still plumped up the hardness has gone, in fact it started to go after about 30 minutes.
Got another shot to use next week sometime – going to stick to 7.5mg - and then it’s back to the Urologist, see what he has to say. Last time he mentioned using the full dose 10 mg. Hopefully with the right dose it should be what I’ve been looking for. We’ll see…

Re: Caverject - my turn to Inject
Dave, From the sound of it your doing it just about perfect. I also use Caverject. Like you I get a bit of ache but not much and it hangs around for quite a while.(kind of like it, reminds me what I have down there) Like you it tends to say a bit plumped as well for quite a while.
Congrats on making it to the injectionss.
For me it brought me back to my normas self in my mind.

Dave,
Sounds familiar. Do another 7.5 and see how it goes. The response to a dosage usually increases (from testimonies here and at other forums). I have lack of hardness in the top 1 inch but if I inject for longer erections (>2 hours) it seems to improve, I guess it's getting the bloodflow to rejuvenate the tissue up there. Stay with the program, keep practicing consistent injecting, and I hope it gets you a near complete recovery.

Re: Caverject - my turn to Inject
Third Caverject injection yesterday. I did another 7.5 micrograms and this time it seemed to work even better, hard all the way up the shaft and it lasted for about 1 ½ hours, not sure if it’s because my technique is improving or whether it’s building in my system, either way it’s looking good. It does ache a bit but nothing I can’t cope with in fact it seems to be more of a dull ache and heavy feeling than a pain. No more shots left so I am back to the Uro next Friday to give him an update and see where I go from here. He mentioned trying the shots for 6 months then back to pills.
Nothing happening between shots though unless I use the pump. I do know it’s early days yet but I have been told that I can only have one shot a week here in the UK and that I cannot get anything else through our health system i.e. pills, unless I pay. I need to check and see how true that is though because I would like to combine shots with maybe pills a bit further down the line.
I could always buy my own supply. Cost is not a problem though I am concerned about getting bad stuff. Anyone know of a genuine supplier here in the UK?
Will keep you updated.

Re: Caverject - my turn to Inject
Hey Dave,
Sounds like you are a happy chappy! I just realised that we had surgery almost the same time and the same Gleason and results. We both had ED that the pills didn't help. Pleased that you have had success with the injections. I am 3 months down the track and they seem to be having a rejuvenating effect and the pills are now starting to work on their own. I will continue the injections to see how far I can take this year 4 recovery.

Didn't realise we had quite so many similarities until I read your profile. You're right I am one very happy chappy and will be even happier if after a few months I get a similar effect to you.

Re: Caverject - my turn to Inject
If you want to try pills and you have to pay full price, checK out the "Pills, Internet, Cost" thread in the General Forun for good sources for generic ED pills. I use 10 mg daily of Tadadifil (Cials) for non-injection days.
