I found that doctors who don't know any better or who don't want to be bothered have a standard answer, "it's in your head". I think the vast majority of the time it's not a psychological problem, it's a physical problem. This is especially likely given the experience you had.

That's a doctors way of saying. When it comes to implants, I am totally ignorant. It's in your 'head' alright. The one below your belt! Find a competent implant doctor. Check out the forums. There are awesome surgeons out there, not just the 'superstars' who never screw up an implant or won't admit it if when they do. Do your homework.

Thank you everyone for the helpful replies. I truly appreciate your help. I mean my problem is not a blow flow problem. I can get morning erections once in awhile. So something is working to a degree. But I Know that my nerves to in my penis are not functioning to their full potential. The physical changes to my penis are there and trust me counseling is not the answer.

And if I decide to indeed get the implant I know there is no going back. That's why its a little nerve racking. And if i do precede with it, i will probably go with a top surgeon like Eid or Kramer.

I have many questions to ask and alot to learn on this form. I know most of you guys are open to talk and im grateful for that. So i will do my homework and i might be a little annoying on this forum haha but I want the truth of the pros and cons.

One thing that you NEED to consider... the longer you have ED, the longer your dick has to start atrophying. This is, for the most part, irreversible. Some guys seem to have been lucky and get a lot of it back, but the most common complaint is loss of penile length and girth. There is lots of evidence that reports that while considering the implant, if you use a VED daily, you will not lose much length at all, or even gain some. Had ED since 22 years old. Looking back is has affected me greatly. I´m a good looking guy with everything going for me except the boner.

I remeber when i started my first round ot Viagra at age 27. My life came back. Confident and having no issues inviting the beautiful ladies to my home for some fun. Last few years aprox 2 years the meds have stopt working as usual. And my personality is altered. Thats one of the main resons I´m going for it. Having back me my self and I. I really struggle to have a close relationship with a girl both physically and mentally. I´ve had my shots for serious relationships by turned them down because I didn´t want to be exposed.

I remember the first time I heard of penile implant in a video on youtube..........I actually shut down the video as soon they started talking. I felt physically ill and was so scared that that might be me in a couple of years. I didn´t even care to learn about it. But I hit a brick wall 1-2 years ago when pills started to loose effect and my sideffects from dem actuallt now keep me from taking them. Migrane, RED eyes, stuffy nose and 50% loss of energy the day after.

I collected some courage and started to learn about implants...here at FT.
It was hard for me but reading more and more about it, Hearing people who have done it, Seeing pictures of before and after have given me the knowledge and understanding that, implant is the best solution, period. It doesnt alter your overall health, and you truly can have a boner when ever you want and it will be hard...the few times I have been able to have some serious sex for 40 mins to an hour has been something that i can´t compare to my weak tries of sex for 5-10 minutes with a half softie.

Stay on the sight, read, write and learn. Dig deep in to all the information you can get.
That will take the fear away.

I feel lighter and happier only by making a desicion that i WILL do it as soon as I can!
Can´t imagine the feeling of not thinking of my dick 23 hours out of 24.

On YouTube there are many, many videos (penile implant). If you watch them you will see how it's done. ED causes your dick to atrophy (shrink). The longer you go without an erection, the greater the chance your dick will shrink. Although some have gained most if not all length back but it should be considered permanent.

Good post. There is no question ED can have devastating effects on the psyche, especially on young and single guys looking to play the field and find their place.

I too was scared away from implants in my early 20's, by misinformation, from the professionals, none the less.
It's all in your head they told me. "Young guys can't have ED" and other nonsense.

Now we can talk to real men who have gone through and are going through this. They all have a unique story and by sharing our story we can help others.

Everyone that is going through this, I want you to know that there is hope when all else fails.
