I recommend googling urologists in your area and hopefully find one specializing in male sexual dysfunction. Or. Ask your primary for a recommendation.

I keep my care team informed of what the other is doing. I have signed records release fo each. The only exception is VA, but Give alo my civilian drs my va stuff

Robert, I never bothered trying to get the VA to do anything about my ED. When I mentioned it to them, they wanted me to go to pumping class. Tri-mix isn't all that expensive. I was paying $126 for 4 vials that were to make 2ml each when constituted. Hell, I couldn't even get them to prescribe Viagra. That was some years ago, so maybe they've changed after all their bad publicity.

The VA did cover my oral medications. Did not require me to do injections. Did issue a Vacuum Erection Device and at the last, authorized surgery. First, with an out-of system civilian local surgeon (which I eventually declined because I wanted to get more information about the surgery and wanted to investigate a higher-volume surgeon and learn more about the procedure).

I inquired of the Maryland VA, through which Dr. Kramer does some of his implants.

Traveling from Alaska to Maryland proved problematic, so the Alaska VA suggested the Puget Sound VA Hospital (Seattle, WA) where Dr. Walsh used to do implants, but recently stopped, leaving that function to Dr. Ostrowski. I came within a month of taking the Seattle option when Dr. (Lt.Col) Shaw (a HIGHLY experienced urologist who, in the words of Dr. Eid, "is in love with his craft" who, after we met ,inspired my confidence) was assigned to the Elmendorf Hospital in Anchorage, AK.

Through a cooperation agreement between the Air Force and the VA, I received an implant from a Dr. Shaw in the Air Force Hospital, courtesy of the VA.

Now, my medical circumstances may be different from yours, so the authorizations I received might have been easier for me to get than you might find, but by my experiences I can attest that the VA does prescribe oral medications (and I expect would have prescribed injections if I had asked), a VED and ultimately, surgery.

I got these authorizations because I educated myself (I seem to have impressed my primary care physician, who said I knew more about ED than he did, just before he put in the paperwork to let me go outside the VA to meet with the first, civilian, surgeon. My primary care physician had been prescribing oral medications for a few years by that time, so we did have history and he trusted my earnestness, I guess.

I diligently interviewed, researched and investigated by email all my options. I searched on FrankTalk, too (do a search for my authored threads and posts) for the past 15 months. I left a trail of lots of good information and links to medical papers, some I found and some provided to me by the generous members here. Spend some time.

P.S. The V.A. mails most of my prescriptions (Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, in generic forms, of course, while they still worked, and my other non-E.D. medications). I imagine mailing out-of-U.S. will not be a problem for those meds, if your Doctor prescribes them and they work for you.

Cigar56, I appreciate your point of view, but I must say that my experience has been completely the opposite.

Having all of my docs working as a team has been very helpful--I'd say awesome. With them working together, I have not had to do duplicate blood tests, etc. And my Primary Care Physician DID communicate with the urologist to whom he referred me: he sent copies of my latest labs, my medical history, etc. etc. I'm convinced that medical professionals working together is a win-win situation for everyone, especially the patient.

Because i live out of country the va in phonix gave me a march appointment with a gp then he would have to hook me up with a uro probably sometime in june smy plan is to go see a private doctor next week get started and then try to get the va to cover the meds hopefully the dry trimix then i can take with me enough to last 6 months till i can either get the va to cover the meds or find a sourse in the philippines dang that going to take lots of good luck
