That is a bit far to go for the appointments before hand. I was thinking of maybe the Kansas City area or Oklahoma City. Dallas, tx even. I live in the south part of KS and Wichita is where I have been going. I could drive for a day trip to KC and OKC for the appointments before hand. Dallas I could drive a day trip but the time would have to be right and it would be a really long day trip.

I did it all by myself. No one knows except my sex partners. I went to Kramer at University of Maryland Medical center. I did not have any surrogate. I signed myself in and out. I had my procedure on Wednesday morning and flew home on Saturday. A UMMC shuttle took me back to my hotel. It was an easy walk to get there pre-op. The hotel limousine service took me to the airport. Much better than a cab as it was a Lincoln Navigator. Easy in and out.

Best thing I ever did,

Best of luck

Not with my family. They want to grill the doc and nurses and everybody on what is going on. I was thinking bladder work for a while but they'd get somebody to slip up or see something. Now just to decide to either go to a larger area with a well known uro or stay local. I figure a weeks stay in a motel either way and just tell folks I will be gone for a week.

I highly recommend going with a top high volume surgeon

Hopefully this is a once in a lifetime procedure, so I wouldn't let convenience or travel distance influence your choice of a surgeon. Find the surgeon you trust the most and figure out how to make that work.

I missed this message some how. I have already had a hydrocele. Mine didn't need the time for healing I have heard with an implant. Mine was caused by scar tissue from my vasectomy. It blocked the exit flow of fluid. My plan if I do it is to just plan it as a vacation and leave for a week or 10 days.

So I have seen posted Eid in New York, Kramer in Maryland. Where would I start a search for others?

There are only two makers of Inflatable Implants for the U.S. market, AMS and Coloplast. Contact them for a list of their approved qualified providers in your area.

Not all of the providers are on their sites. My doctor was not BUT the incompetent surgeon who disfigured me and caused most of my problems is the only one on the AMS locator for my area. As for the "Top High Volume Surgeons", I have said this many times... a large majority of the highly satisfied implanted members on here had someone other than the two surgeons you are referring to. Yes, both surgeons seem to be very good, but that does not mean that everyone else is not worthy. Why would someone travel across the US to see one of those two when they likely have someone just as good right where they are. This is especially true for men who's insurance will not pay. Please, this site is NOT free commercial space for ANY surgeons. Thank you for your co-operation.

Personally other than my wife and the brothers on this site nobody knew about my Op. I used the double hernia excuse. Seems nobody is any wiser and all is ok. I'm sure there will come a time when it does "get out" (excuse the pun) but I'm not ashamed and won't worry but just didn't want to explain the history, reasons and procedure alto anyone other than my partner. My son even took me and collected me totally unaware from the private hospital I used.
Now Implanted 9/12/17. 52 years old with ED for over 20 years. Tried all the pills and injections. Update. Implanted with Titan 22 + 1. by DR Ralph Dec 9th London. Now in recovery and at 3 months feeling the journey was worth the pain.
