New implant

Postby logical84 » Sat Jan 20, 2018 7:24 pm

I was implanted by Dr. Eid yesterday. Titan Coloplast 22cm. I was hoping for the 24 but I trust him. When he did the sonogram and initial pre-op work, Dr. Eid found several complications. One of my main arteries was nearly impossible to find. Additionally there was quite a bit of scar tissue. There's no telling what caused all this and frankly it only strengthened my resolve. There really aren't any other options.

I flew up from Alabama and was implanted yesterday. I had a discrete medical chaperone escort me across the street to the hotel. I've been laying around keeping the area iced per Dr. Eid's instructions. I'm staying at the Affinia Gardens, and it's great. Except for ridiculously slow internet, ha.

After the spinal wore off, I experienced some moderate/severe achey pain, but thats expected and the painkillers are doing their job. Today it is a little better, and I hope the trend continues. I see Dr. Eid for activation on Monday.

This forum has been and continues to be a great resource. Thank you to all the members. Of course I don't know for sure yet, but I believe this was the right decision. I'll keep y'all posted.

Thanks again,
John

God bless brother! I wish you a painless and speedy recovery. I'm sure you'll love it none the less. If it's any conciliation, the 22cm Titan has the same diameter as the 24cm.

Congratulations!

What brought you to this point, bro? And 84 I’m assuming is your year of birth?

Hi John, that's pretty much the plan I followed except I stayed at the Bentley. That spinal makes you think you escaped the pain and then it wears off, I remember that feeling. But even then the pain wasn't bad. My surgery was on Friday like yours, with an office visit on Monday to activate. I had a 5+ hour flight home so I elected to leave the catheter in and self-activated when I got home. When the catheter comes out you will likely feel the need to pee often, so I recommend leaving it in if you have to travel that day, easy to remove at home. Dr Eid agreed with that decision.

If you stay flat on your back in bed with ice until Monday you will likely have no swelling and activation is pretty straight forward. Another thing, the hot baths never worked for me. I tried one and then went to standing in a steaming hot shower, aimed at the groin, made it easy to feel everything and activate. I also used a heating pad on my groin when in bed and that helped with the discomfort for the first week.

Let us know how it goes.

Haha! Thank you for that. I don't think I'm losing much length if any at all. And probably gaining a little girth.

Actually, no. It's just a semi random number. I'm 44. I've had issues with keeping an erection my whole life. It has always required fairly constant manual stimulation. About ten years ago I started needing the pills just to get an erection. So, I've been through pills, injections, etc. They all work in the beginning but got less and less effective as time went on. This really is my last option.

I originally got on this board looking for advice on injections. But checked out the implant board as a matter of curiosity. I didn't even know they existed until I found this site. So I did my research and here I am.

Status: I don't really need the opiate based painkillers at this point. (36 hours post surgery). I'm doing alright with Tylenol. I am having some trouble with constipation but I feel like getting off the hard stuff should help. I'm pretty excited that there's only slight pain at this point!

Thanks man! I'm happy to say I went poop! Ha, couldn't resist. I think getting off the painters was Jerry for me. Just took my catheter out and now I see Dr. Eid in the morning for activation hopefully..

Thanks y'all. The walk to his office was manageable but no fun. Activated and stayed pumped up for maybe 30s. Gonna try and get myself back to Alabama for a hot bath.

Dr. Eid has been amazing! He is an extremely accomplished, competent surgeon in this domain. He was definitely worth the extra travel expenses. He asked me to help him updated. I certainly will. And y'all too!
