My urologist "joked" (?) when hetold me that immediately after the surgery I would absolutely hate him, but after things healed up I would love* him. So true in my experience.

My implant was an outpatient procedure. I awoke at 3am after it the first night. The first thing I did was go to the bathroom and remove the catheter. After 18 prior major surgeries I knew how to get those things out and saw no need to leave it in the full 24 hours. I hate them as much as a tube going down my nose which I've also pulled out more than once when hospitalized after a surgery. A nurse once told me they were going to put another one in and I said "you'd better have a platoon of Marines to hold me down because that's what it's going to take." I got more relief just vomiting for a day or two than that tube down my nose gave me!

The 3rd day after the implant is when you are acutely aware of what's been done to you. That was when I'd have gladly taken the decision back. Relief progressed rapidly from that point though. The first time I could finally slide into a hot bath was pure heaven. By the end of the first month the only time I could feel the implant was when I was bending forward to pull on socks and shoes. In another month that was gone as well.

Now, with the awesome over 5 inch flaccid I have (a full 3 inches more than before!) I no longer have to wait for the corner urinal in a public rest room to be available. I line right up in any stall available and flop that horse right out. I can say unequivocably that an implant recovery is a walk in the park to the 18 prior surgeries I had.

WOW ! Congrats. The "journey to the other side" is scary and rough but it looks like you have made it beyond the point of no return and you are now officially a Bionic sex god. My surgeon told me that "every day will get better" so if you have a rough day, do not fret, you will feel better in the next day or two; and at three months you will be "back to normal" except that you will have a dick that stays up for as long as you want and is 100% reliable.

So thrilled for you !

[quote="jackhammerdreamz"]Day 2

Quick Question: Is this the best way to do this you think? Update the original post? Or is it better to post a new comment with each update?

I don't expect to keep a complete daily journal but thought I'd note that I made it home!
Passed the bladder evacuation test so didn't need the catheter anymore.
Talk about one of the worst feelings EVER getting that sucked pulled out holy shit.

I get severely dizzy and nauseated with oxy and the like. vicodin codein etc.
I would rather feel pain than be crawling on the floor puking.
So I'm sticking to the 650mg of tylenol for the next week or so.
(maybe oxy for sleep tho)

The pain is really not much (so far).
I can feel the reservoir behind my abdomen to the right side.
It's more of an achy feeling than anything.
Makes me nervous to sit up without using my arms wonder if I should baby it or move normally.
The pump sits in front of and below my nuts. Surgeon suggested I feel for it daily but not to rummage too hard at first if there's swelling and tenderness.
There wasn't any pain or tenderness yet.

My Doctor didn't get a chance to come talk to me afterwards which was a bummer.
So I don't know the size of the implant he used. I will be messaging him tonight about that info.
I'm not exactly concerned about size now(it looks great to me!) but would like to know for my signature ;)

Anyway, let's see ya discharged at about 1pm, had some Indian food, had two hard number 2's
probably constipation from the anesthesia but I didn't force it too much. Just steady pressure so it took longer.
Felt like giving birth.

Sorry that's likely TMI lmao.

Implant-wise I will say it definitely doesn't hang like a limp dick(of course). The cylinders are new and quite firm. I find with my boxer briefs I can tuck it to the right a bit so it only pokes out a little bit...
Will have to see how tighter jeans work, lol may have to go shopping soon for baggier pants.

Fun side-note I've been super gassy. Maybe from the Indian food but more likely the drugs and hospital food. Lots of wind gusts!

I'm following all the rules listed on my packet. Will use pain meds when necessary (maybe oxy for sleep) but I got 6 hours last night in the hospital which was quite surprising to me.
Antibiotics twice a day, stool softener as needed. No lifting 15lbs, no sex for 6 weeks. I'll get inflated in my visit in 2 weeks. Can't wait to shower tomorrow! and no baths for a while either.

OH I forgot, when the doctor assistant came in to deflate me today, didn't feel any pain when he did that but did notice he had to squeeze to the point of shaking, to get it to deflate.
So there is truth to the fact that new implants have a break-in period. I don't think I could sufficiently squeeze as hard as he did to deflate.

That's all for today!

Cheers

Day 1

I still have finger things on in the hospital so I write this brief post on my phone.

But I had to say I'm Bionic!

The "easy" part is over.
Now it's time to heal and adjust to the implant.

Doc says at least 6 weeks for intercourse. I'm not going to push it.
Healing inside and out is #1 priority

This was my first general anesthesia which was awful.
I was dry heaving from the dizziness after surgery from what I'm told.

The nasty side effects wore off about 5 hours after surgery.

Haven't felt the need for pain meds yet but will take the Tylenol 650 when I'm ready to sleep.
Catheter and the other draining tube are uncomfortable.

My dick is partially inflated and from what I feel I do have sensation.
How much is of course yet to be determined.
I can flex the erection and it moves and I feel that.

I'll post more when I have full use of my fingers.
It's an outpatient procedure but my surgeon keeps his patients overnight so they can take the catheter out in the morning.

Everyone at the University of MN hospital has been incredible.
Dr. Bodie answered all questions and sat down to confirm I was ready to make this decision.
He didn't push or stop me. I'm happy and excited for the future.

There are no words to describe how grateful I am for this site and the wonderful contributors here. You have my eternal gratitude.

More updates to come![/quote

Editing the original post doesn't shuffle the thread to the top.
So I'll probably post updates as new replies from here on just FYI.
Oh and Larry I'll update my signature with my implant dimensions.

Later hombres!

Day 5 horny & concerned

So last night was the first time I was brave enough to search around and touch my junk entirely.

Some interesting things going on down there!
It was a little concerning but I obviously have no idea what anything should feel like in there.
So the shaft I thought would be two smooth cylinders but there feels like there's bumps/lumps in the shaft like near the base.
There's also a cord/cable kind of at the base and to the right of my shaft, I think it's going from the pump up and back to the reservoir.

It just makes me wonder, "Did everything get placed okay? or is everything sitting in the right spot?"
The only reason I wonder if it DIDN'T is because I was told after coming out of anesthesia I was dry heaving/vomiting a lot. Which tells me I was putting a lot of unwanted pressure on my abdomen and maybe I could have pushed something into a bad or incorrect place.

I'll call my doctor today about it. I'm sure it's all good, but as a noob you can't help but be concerned
I think it's better to ask these questions early instead of finding out in a month like oh ya these aren't correct we'll need to open you back up. (which would suck)

Other than that though, I was feeling really horny this morning. My girlfriend just had something going on and I was into it. So we made out a lot and I started playing with her. I stayed clothed and we didn't touch me at all, BUT I could tell I was getting excited.
That is a great thing to know! I could feel myself getting engorged a bit in the head and blood was definitely circulating. No erection of course but the sensation was still going on down there.
FOR ANYONE WONDERING that's a HUGE thing! I suppose mileage varies right, with your own physical conditions and everything. But I am pretty confident I will be having good feeling sex when the time comes!!
It's nice having no pressure on me because I CANNOT have sex. So we focus on her ;)

I'll update with what I hear from the doctor when I give them a call.

The tubing is what you are feelingat the base. I thought 8t would be soft but it kinda hard. You should feel the tips in your head. All implants are stiff when new. Day 5 you may still have swelling.

The Titan are thick and you can defiantly feel parts

Thanks HTurner! Yes the urologist on call said it's all normal. Plumber in a separate post said the protrusions on each side are the "dog ear" effect when the cylinders are not pumped.
Just new feelings and equipment I'll have to get used to :)

Other than a little discomfort in the shaft and a bulge in my pants, everything is healing up really really well so far!

If there were ever angels walking the earth, it would be you guys. (and I'm not even of the religious disposition  )
Grateful every day for this site and all of you

Day 6

My concerns yesterday were just worries... My junk is all normal. Everything is fine :D

My routine has been I wake up about 6 hours after going to sleep.
Probably because the tylenol wears off after 6 hours which I take before bed.
I take my tylenol and go back to bed for 2-3 hours.

Something I've noticed that may be catheter related or just new equipment, is that the sensation to have to pee is different.
It feels like a sting/pinch now, versus just feeling a tingle.
I used to let my bladder fill a decent amount overnight so I would possibly have a morning erection....
Now I wake with a pinch and have to evacuate asap.
Just food for thought. This is a diary for me mostly I know it's completely boring lollll

I also wake up a little sweaty. I feel a little flush like I have a fever. I check and I don't.
Possibly my body repairing tissue while I sleep, I've had this feeling in the past with surgeries like after my vasectomy.

I only have pain in the shaft when I wake up. Moving around and especially walking around bottomless feels great.
Just my big ol dick swinging in the wind LMAO.

Anyway I've been in the house for 5 days straight so I'm going to venture out a little today.
Hit up a few furniture shops with the GF and try to drive. Pressing down on a clutch and brake pedal should be interesting.
