SHARP CORNERS IN PUMP "OUCH"

Postby madmax » Sat Jan 21, 2012 5:18 pm

I am doing great with my AMS 700 implant but there is one thing that is still a bother the pump release area has sharp corners on it and I am telling you they stick my bag skinn pretty good at times... sometimes when I sit down a corner will stick my bag and "Daaamn" do other implants have the release area with sharp edges seems like it would have been better for them to have been rounded...anyone else have this problem...almost afraid it may erode the skin sometimes...everything else is great and I am 100% happy with implant but the sharp corners... now they suck

That does sound painful. I am considering an ipp myself, but have many reservations because of the unhappy stories I've been reading here. Do you have th lgx 700?

BTW, I saw your videos and its good that you are happy with your ipp. Your wife is quite hot man, you should post pics of her again. Let me ask, does she have any complaints about the ipp? Was she disappointed with the size loss?

My first pump had sharp corners and they bothered me just a little but nothing to worry about. My second pump feels like it has round corners, nothing sharp at all, however it doesn't work soooo....

I'll let you know what the thrid pump is like hopefully in march. BTW I have a Titan.

Max,

Sticking in an area as sensitive as the Scrotum sounds really painful.
I had the Coloplast Titan Penile Implant Procedure in December 2007 and have never had the sticking sensation you
described. The Titan has a rounded pump and is still working great after 4 years.
I suggest you discuss this with your Implant Surgeon to see what can be done to correct the sticking sensation.
Possibly, the pump can be re-positioned in your Scrotum.
Hope this problem can be resolved quickly and I wish you and your wife many years of enjoyment with your Implant.

Bob

MadMax,
I am having the same problem. Which implant do you have? I have the AMS 700 Ultrex. Don't know why the Dr. did not use the GLX, which seems to the most popular mode. The pump does have sharp corners and they are really uncomfortable. In addition the pump sits really low in the scrotum, which makes it even more uncomfortable. Hurts every time I sit down. Will be going for my 6 week followup and first activation today and I will ask the Dr. about the sharp corners. Will let you know what he says.

Are you sure it is sharp corners and not just the pump sticking to its neighbors? I had a lot of sticking problems, I worked daily pulling the pump free from everything around it. The sensation was like pulling off adhesive tape. When sitting or moving just right, I would get that pull and it sort of felt like something sharp on the inside. I still have to manuver my pump around every few days as it will try to stick to its friends.

Max, your pump placement is VERY much like my original pump was. Pulling and tugging was a waste of time for me (nearly a full year). My scrotum is VERY lose and roomy even extending half way up the shaft (I'm not circumcised). My original pump was placed so damned far up the shaft it blocked penetration and hurt the wife (I couldn't drad the pump inside her vagina during sex, so penetration was very limited).

I got a revision and WOW was it great. The put longer tubes on and moved the pump way down in my scrotum. Things were so much better. Unfortunately, the device failed 2 months later and now I need a full Do-Over. Hopefully, the new device will work and be installed in an optimal position for me.

And yes... My original pump had sharp, square corners and it was a constant little pain that never did stop nagging me. The new pump does not have pointy sharp corners like the older one.
