Re: Appetite/Mobiity
No problem, man. We all are just trying to help each other.
54 years old, happily married for 30 years to a beautiful & outstanding lady. Onset ED at 49. Finally fixed on 11/08/2017 by the master Dr. Eid with a Titan XL 26, no RTEs! Previously had 3 AMS implants (LGX & CX), all botched.

Yes Plumber you are right. And your tone was right on. I appreciated not getting a lecture or some sort of criticism. Here's the deal. I am compulsive and have OCD. The good thing is I have quite the manual on this surgery that I started from 2010. I am done writing the manual LOL.
Here's what's going on...I've met Dr. Eid several times. I kept chickening out of the surgery. He is one of the best.
I see him again on March 29th. Surgery in April. However, I was thrown a curve ball. None of my family can make it down with me. So I am going from freaking out to what are my options. They will not discharge you unless you have someone to pick you up. So I have to get a medical chaperone.

The medical chaperone should be a great option just so you can get this taken care of and put the worries behind you.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

I can assured you that, even with your OCD, you have done the homework that is required. Do not think of it as a negative action. And, BTW, it is great that you are Eid’s patient. The other “high volume” doctor would have not accepted your as patient as soon as he would have noticed that you have a level of knowledge that most patients don’t have. That makes him feel very uncomfortable since he cannot BS you, which is part of his MO.

Im not gonna lie. The surgery is not a cake walk. It is surgery. Someone cuts into your body at the most coveted part of you. But it is very managable. Many of us have gone thru it and would do it all again. I personally never filled my pain meds prescription. I use advil and tylenol. Lie flat, rest & ice. You will be fine. Like the guys said, you ask valid questions. But it really is no nightmare. Actually more discomfort than pain. You have a doctor that has done thousands of implants. You are in good hands. You have many threads going right now on FT. Dont chicken out. You will be glad you had the surgery. The benefits far outweigh anything you will experience. It is really nothing to worry about. Good luck !

OF COURSE YOU HAVE A MANUAL! I love you man!
We all have ways of coping with anxieties. If making a manual for yourself works. Hell ya make one.
Fuck I wish I knew some trustworthy friends out in NYC, I'd ask someone to help you out with a ride.
I think most of them take the train anyway and don't have transportation.
Perhaps your hotel can be a medical escort? Slip a bellboy $50 and have him pick you up?
Like bandit said, it's no picnic, but is it torture? no.
I fought off meningitis and have been through vasectomy pain.
Both were more painful really. Discomfort is really the only longterm thing, but even now at 30 or so days post op, I barely feel discomfort throughout the day.
You got this brother!

Re: Appetite/Mobiity
Thanks guys for all your help AND UNDERSTANDING. I'm a combination of depressed/bi-poIar/OCD and compulsive. No excuses though I promise. Feel bad for the person who gets to be my first date post-surgery LOL.
I think my dad will be driving me home same day. 2 1/2 hour drive to northern CT.
So I hear narcotic scripts must be filled in NY State. Any experiences?
How much pain med do they give you?
For the record so as not to waste your time on things I can seek the answers myself. Tomorrow I am requesting a post-op sheet from Dr. Eid's office.

Re: Appetite/Mobiity
That’s great if your dad can help you out. When you say he will drive you home the “same day” be sure to find out when you will be released. Although my implant was considered outpatient, I stayed overnight in the hospital. If your stay is less than 24 hours it is considered outpatient. I think that is probably the most common schedule for implants. The catheter was pulled the next morning and then as soon as I was able to urinate after that I was released. So, your dad may either need to get a hotel room or be prepared to stay in your room or the waiting room.

You'll have to have a bit of courage to remove the catheter yourself. Quite a unique and sharp pain. If you are going home same-day they'll probably send you home with one. My nurse pulled it out like you would pull off a band-aid, quick as possible.
Narco meds I have no idea on. I was in a hospital so they just filled the script before I left the next morning.
There has to be a local drugstore or something that will fill it for you in NYC before you leave.
I think I got 40 or 60 oxy pills. Didn't use any though. I puke on the stuff yuck.
Cheers
