Questions, I'm new getting my first shot next week.
I ordered the Trimix I got 5 bottles and the pharm said you should be able to get 2 or more shots a bottle,
But then he told me to freeze the bottles and use when ready but if I'm going to use it again because it was thawed he said you have to use in in 3 days. I was hoping once I did it once I could put the rest in the fridge and use it when needed or like 5 or 6 days. For the price I hate to toss it out if I don't get to it in 3 days.

He did also tell me by law he has to tell me to use in 3 days with kinda a wink, I took it as you don't have to use in 3 days

What all do you guys experience?

Lots of guys on here draw it up in the needles and freeze it and then just thaw them as you need them.

Larry is correct! Thaw, draw a dose, refreeze. Keeps it's potency for months!

That does seem to be the most common procedure used by members of this forum that post in "Injections". It's what I do.

However, I'm not a medical professional of any kind. The safest policy is to ask your doctor and follow his/her advice.

Just picked it up he said keep in freezer but once thawed just put it in the fridge not back in the freezer. He said the law says to use the rest in 3 days but told me guys go for a week or two and its still potent. I will see go in Monday for training and first injection

Draw off 6-10 syringes and put in refrigerator, freeze whats left in the bottle. I have a bottle I've been using on for almost a year. I've thawed it 3-4 times and refroze with no effect on potency.

Legally they can't put that on the label without a great deal of research data and red tape of approval. Too many people who are on this list and other lists are freezing and re-thawing with little or no effect on potency or sterility.

When you figure out the right dose, just fill a bunch of syringes with the optimum dose, refreeze them and keep a few (1-2 weeks supply) at the ready in the refrigerator.

When you run out of frozen syringes then re-thaw your bottle and repeat by filling another bunch of syringes.

By filling a bunch of syringes at once you should be able to keep from contaminating your bottle (my opinion biggest cause of loss of potency).

Interesting, I can get a 10ML bottle for $150 shipped, so your saying thaw out fill needles and re-freeze bottle and needles? You had no problems like that? One way of getting all of the med with one bottle rather then 10 1ML bottles

The pharm said not to re-freeze but that is why I ask questions on here

You might find other stuff worth reading also, although I haven't updated the list lately do to apparent lack of interest.

Yes, it seems most users freeze their meds.

The only concern I've heard expressed it that on rare occasions one or more of the meds can precipitate out of solution and form tiny crystals in the liquid. So you might want to check for that before injecting. I believe I recall the suggested remedy, when this occurs, is to warm the mix slightly and shake vigorously until the crystals dissolve back into solution. I've never experienced this problem but I don't think I'd warm it more than what you get by holding it in your hand for awhile.

I personally wouldn't fill more than a weeks worth of syringes if they'll only be refrigerated and not frozen. I've never frozen syringess. My mix comes in ten 1ml vials. I thaw a vial, draw my syringe and immediately refreeze. Each vial probably gets thawed and refrozen at least 10 times.

As referenced in the abstract linked above, the alprostidal (PGE1) degrades very rapidly at room temperature and still fairly quickly just refrigerated. Frozen is the chosen.
