A little background
Diabetic
48 years old
Reasonally fit I am a gymrat
Have ED problem
Currently on Testerone therapy (injections)
Have also tried Viagra (no effect)
Cialis (some effect)
Tri Mix Shots (some effect)
Gotta say...today I have approached frustration.
I am divorced....and the last YEARS of the marriage I literally had no sex so getting hard was not a issue for me.....frankly I didnt care because I dont cheat and my now departed wife wanted nothing to do with me.
But now I am single but with a girl (10 years younger) who I very much would like to have sex with....and she has been great about the whole thing because she now knows I have a really bad ED problem due to my diabetic condition.
First I tried natural stuff...no effect....
Then I took Viagra....no effect all that did was give me vision issues
I tried Viagra.....with a small amount of results...there was action down there but it did not get fully hard and didnt stay hard
Then I tried Tri Mix shots....a little more action then the Viagra...but literally 10 minutes of almost hardness then done...that isnt enough.
I have been taking Testerone therapy too in shots in the butt (there is a "mens clinic in my area) nothing covered by insurance and frankly more expensive then I can really afford. They drew blood and told me my testerone is low....but frankly I have felt no good effects from the therapy up till now and i am on my last 3 of 12 shots taken over a few months.
What do I do? It is not fair to this new woman to not be able to satisfy her unless i do oral (which I love....but its not the same and she get frustrated because I dont orgasm)

Re: Darn near boarderline despiration
I feel for you man. I had progressively worse ED issues for 30 years. After years and years of various doctors barely listening to my issues and simply prescribing drugs, I finally went to a doctor who sent me for a Penile Doppler test and the result showed a severe Venous Leak. It finally proved to me this wasn’t in my head as more than one doctor suggested, and explained why none of the treatments were effective. That lead me to pursue a Penile Implant. After a lot of research and talking to two men who already had implants, I realized for me it was the solution to my problem and the only thing I could do to recapture my lost sex life, as well as my self-esteem. Now I am 5 1/2 month post implant and loving life and my wife is getting the sexual satisfaction she had craved for years. I am not saying an implant is the perfect solution for you, but suggesting it may be worthwhile to consult with a doctor who is respected in that field so you can understand all of your options. Best wishes.

I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.
Re: Darn near boarderline despiration
In reference to the Tri-Mix shots, how much work was done in trying to find an effective mix and dose for you? Was all of this at the same men's clinic? A VED or implant may be your only options but I wonder if the injections received a proper trial.
R.R.P 2011 Mayo Jacksonville, Dr. M. Wehle. Not nerve sparing. C in margins. Radiation 2023, V.E.D, Viagra and PGE-1 (80mcg/ml) injections @ 8 - 14 units. Originally Edex20, then compounded PGE due to cost. Inject. 12 yrs. It works. Treasure coast of FL.
Re: Darn near boarderline despiration
I was given a Tri Mix shot in the clinic that actually thought ti worked....it made my penis sore as hell and I had a erection for what seemed like 30 minutes.
The one I gave myself at home lasted like 10 minutes. I tried one before that on another day that didnt work for me at all but the clinic told me I took that shot too soon.
I am petrified that the implant is the only answer.......I dont have the money for it at all.

Your Injections trial was not adequate and insufficient to judge if they are a viable option for you. Is there no good Uro around that prescribes injections that's unaffiliated with that clinic? You need one that cares and will work with you in developing a mix that is effective for you. Injections might not work for you but it's way too early to know that yet. Don't lose hope.

Re: Darn near boarderline despiration
Hello Cowart69, I can sympathize with you. Diabetes, even under control, can reek havoc on your body, and for us men it often goes straight to to our manhood with no mercy! My suggestion would be if you haven't already is to try the VED (Vacuum Erection Device) they are were for me semi-effective for a while. Not ideal, but it may allow you to have sex. My ultimate advice is, get a doppler exam, try different injection mixes, and the VED. For myself, I wish I would have had the implant long ago. It could have save me all the ups & downs physically & emotionally trying all the other methods which were not very effective. Waiting so long also allowed my penis to continue to atrophy (shrink). Deciding on an implant is a very serious decision. I really don't know why I waited so long, I really had nothing to loose unless it was a total disaster, my penis was dead as far as sexual activity anyway. Just knowing it's an option, hopefully can give you some hope. VegasED

Please create a signature. It makes things much easier to answer your questions without asking a lot of questions. Here's how you do it
Click on your name in the top right corner and select "user control panel"
Then under the big letters "User Control Panel" there is a row of words... select "Profile"
Then down the left had side of the "User Control Panel" select "Edit Signature" (You might have Create Signature or something. I don't know exactly what you'll get because I already have a signature to edit)
Most guys put something like what I have, but you can put whatever you want. Here is mine -
"AMS 700 (18 + 2 rte's). Implanted March 30, 2017 by Dr. Brock of London, Ont, CANADA. Great surgeon. Went in to septic shock and had to have implant removed April 29, 2017. I'm from Belleville, Ontario, CANADA. Appt. for consult for second attempt is on November 6, 2017... I can't wait."
Don't get too carried away with the doctor like his name, address, phone number, etc (anything that looks like advertising for him).. you can certainly say Dr. Jones (great Dr.)
If you need further help, please ask, that's what I'm here for.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. This poor guy can't afford the T shots, I doubt he would be able to afford to play around with bi/tri mix. Maybe insurance will pay for an implant. That will DEFINITELY work for him.

I know you implant guys love your bionic dicks but the OP plainly said:
"I am petrified that the implant is the only answer.......I dont have the money for it at all."
Perhaps we can try to provide advice that fits his reality rather than giving advice that exacerbates his fear that his only option is one he can't afford.
He clearly hasn't had the proper trial and experimentation to determine if injections are an viable option for him. They very well could be and are generally a very inexpensive option. From what I've gathered from older posts on this site, Men's Clinics are neither the most cost effective or medically effective option to determine if injections are a satisfactory alternative.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to see if insurance would cover it.. then he would know his options.
