Implant After Prostate Radiation?

Postby Cigar56 » Wed Apr 04, 2018 6:06 pm

Hi guys,

I have low-grade, non-agressive prostate cancer -- but cancer nonethelesss. I have been under "active survelliance" for a few years now and my handful of prostate cancer cells have been snoozing like the aging family dog. But I know they will awaken one day with a vengance. So with that in mind, this year I'm going to seek a solution, and right now I am considering radiation.

Next to my overall health, my sexual health is extremely important to me, although I have an older wife who would be happy just to stop having sex right now (hello, Fleshlight!).

Anyway, some guys who undergo prostate surgery are always talking about turning to implants to get their mojo back. How about some of the guys who have undergone radiation? Has anybody here moved on to an implant after that?

Currently I'm on injections, which are great. But if I take this adventure with radiation then I might just go for the gold and consider an implant, too, after a few months.

Thoughts, anyone?
I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

I had radiation therapy in early 2012. The combination of radiation and diabetes left me with terrible ED. Pills didn't work, but trimix injections worked for a little while. After that failed, I didn't know I had any other options, so we just gave up for about 4-5 years. New urologist some weeks ago told me I should think about an implant. That was a new and scary thing.

I've now done research for almost 6 weeks and have decided it's my best option. In the meanwhile, I also tried a higher potency version of trimix (30/2/20), called "super trimix" by some. And I started using cock rings to see if they would help keep the erection up. No luck.

So I've now decided to go ahead with the implant. My doc thinks it's the right thing and so do I. Until it's done and healed I can't say for sure, but I think I should have done this much sooner. One of the "gurus" in the field, Dr. Eid, seems to indicate that men should go directly to implants when pills don't work. I think I agree with him.

You'll want to do your own research, but I'm sold.

Wishing you the best.

Quincy.

I did 42 (or so) days of radiation following RP. My only "side effect" was feeling tired. My urologist at the time of my RP told me I'd never have another natural erection and showed my an implant. I said 'OUCH, that's gotta hurt' and (unwisely) waited 2.5 more years to get an implant. My dick shrunk during that time and I didn't yet know of this site, VED, etc....

That said "I" never lost my mojo....I thought soft dick blowjobs and eating pussy would keep me happy but.....IT WAS NOT ENOUGH! Now on my third implant, I'll say it was NOT a walk in the park. But now I not only still have my mojo...I have a hard dick to help me enjoy it! Search for my post "Miles of Fun".

Good Luck man!
