How Long until stiches desolve?

For those who had dissolvable stitches how long did it take for them to go away? I am at 3 weeks post op and they seem to still be mostly in place.

I believe mine had dissolved after 8 weeks

Took a full 10 weeks for mine to go completely.

Hugh, I agree with you 110%. patients have to AVOID INFECTION at all costs. If they are still there at 8 weeks and he feels they need a couple more weeks than so be it but, it should be up to a guy with MD behind his name.

When I went for my 4 week activation appointment I just had two remaining that had not already dissolved. My doc pulled those that day.

Thank you all. The big knots are gone and a few seem to be gone but it feels like a brush along the incision now. I have had stitches and staples removed in the past at 10 days or 2 weeks. Sounds like I am maybe 1/2 way home on this.

I accidentally tore out my stitches 2 weeks out. They were not replaced because that would have made an infection more possible per my urologist. I applied antibiotic ointment until it healed. I was lucky too.
