Trouble inflating right cylinder

My doctor contacted me again tonight. And advised to go ahead and have my local uro check it out and if I was still having the trouble in 2 weeks to make the arrangement's for a return visit.

I have a hearing problem that worsened the day I flew out for the surgery so I am using e-mail to relay info back and forth between us. I miss a lot with a cell phone. Makes things a bit slow but we are getting things worked out. I understood that there were risks with this or any surgery and still feel that I was right in not using my local guy for the surgery. A big win for avoiding infection and believe that I will get more size back than if I went local.

I will update as I find out more.

Hope everything works out for you my brother. Using a competent local Urologist is not always a mistake. Sometimes using a high volume one is. As in any surgery, there are no guarantees. Confidence in your surgeon is a must.

It was a difficult decision for me. I meet with my local guy 4 times. None of those meetings gave me confidence in him. No patient referrals, does 2-3 a year. When I asked about infection rate he just shrugged and replied it happened. When I asked about sizing stated I would loose at least an inch. Just seemed he had very little interest in the best out come for me. No rating on health grades or any reviews for anything I could find. No recommendation for type of implant from him. 100% up to me. No testing just treatment then surgery. He is young and new to the group. Tried to find out who the best implant guy at the group was but they would not tell me. I did get one patient from another uro in the group to talk to. He liked his doc but said yes I would loose at least an inch. I tried to get insurance to cover going to a guy in KC which was the closest uro I would have considered. He was 48% on health grades but did have one bad review from the husband of a woman who died while under his care. Insurance said I had to stay local. Looked at the study for reoperation rates and understood all have reoperation rates. All the local uro's in my area are in the group with the highest reoperation rate.

Again I do wish there was a really good experienced implant surgeon in my area for this. But there is not. I do still believe that I greatly reduced my chances for a reoperation by making the decision I did. And if I would have gone local would have, no mater what the results, been concerned that I could have more of my original size back if I would have gone to a more experienced surgeon.

Keeping my fingers crossed for a quick and easy fix for this.

Agreed.

And the link in the prior post is great. Anyone considering an implant would do well to watch this. I wish I had seen it before my decision. It makes everything clearer than just words can do.

My rememberer was broke a fair bit back in 77 but that video looked like I had seen it. Sure nuff I found it in my AMS packet. I tried all the stuff in it this afternoon and it seemed some part of it (maybe the stretching) made things go back to being worse. This evening I tried just a straight inflate and still not good. Tried shaking the pump and then inflated again and a bit of improvement but still not as good as last night. I have been deflating right after inflating and checking the results.

Going to make an appointment with my local guy and see if he can or will try to get the right cylinder to work correctly.
