Treat PD before implant

Postby coldbrew » Wed May 02, 2018 12:43 pm

for the ones with peyronie's

did your uro/implant dr recommend trying Xiaflex shots before doing an implant? I have a 45 degree bend to the left.
It actually started/happened with doing trimix injections.

Is there a list of Drs that have success doing implants with people with PD?

I have been researching Ashely Tapscott (Charlotte, NC). She seems to have some experience with PD.
My last visit she was going to have someone to call me that she did implant last year, but no call yet.

I had Peyronies about like yours, 45° bend to the left. Dr Eid looked at this after a tri-mix injection and said it wouldn't be a problem. I'm now completely straight when erect, but still a very slight residual bend when flaccid. The surgical notes just said something like "corrected Peyronies" so it wasn't a big deal to fix during the implant surgery. I had the same concern as you that Peyronies could be a problem for the implant but turned out to be a non-issue.

good to hear.

This makes me want to go see him as I have PD now. I think this adds another thing to correct during surgery.
It is hard to find info on local Drs.
