My boob job!

Postby purcelldds » Thu May 10, 2018 10:45 am

I'm new to the site, considering implant. I won't rehash my story, if interested can read here:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=10070&p=83094#p83094

Anyway, I've done a ton of reading on this site. Thanks for everything you guys have shared, it's very helpful.

It's interesting as men how this kind of thing is such a hush hush topic, hidden in embarrassment. In contrast, I think of my beautiful wife and her girlfriends. My wife has had two boob jobs (which are great!), a little bit of lipo, had her eyelids done, does botox, gets laser skin treatments etc. She and her girlfriends not only talk about it, but do show and tells, refer each other to doctors and providers. As her husband, I have been guilty in the past of saying "honey you don't need those things, you are beautiful just the way you are". It's true, she really doesn't in my eyes but for her it is part of how she sees herself as a woman. It supports her self esteem, makes her feel better about herself and make her feel like a complete woman.

After two babies and breast feeding, her once perky and supple breasts kinds of shriveled up. It happens commonly with breastfeeding. She had them fixed and they are beautiful and part of her now. I don't even think about them not being real. Well, after a lifetime of use, and maybe abuse, my penis is bent, broken and doesn't work very well anymore. It affects my self esteem, makes me feel terrible and I don't feel like a complete man.

The penile implant has been called the new boob job. Well its time for my boob job!!

Bravo! I couldn't agree more. Women take these things much more lightly than men. If a woman is unhappy with her appearance, she lets you know. But we are talking "appearance," not "function." Maybe I didn't wash all the insecticide off an apple when I was a teenager, no one knows why we get prostate cancer. Others say I didn't purge my prostate juices often enough and they went "sour." Whatever the cause, my cancer was generously plucked out and took my manhood "function" with it. My appearance didn't change at all. I might have gotten grumpier without my regular ejaculations, but the cancer has been gone for almost three years. Women use Botox injections, men use penile injections. Let's see what would I rather have, a needle in my wrinkles of my forehead or a needle in the wrinkles of my penis? Duh! My sex life was gone. I'm not talking about breasts that I see as too small (or large), I'm talking a dick that won't function! Guys, I like the analogy but we are talking the difference in firecrackers and megaton weapons. Women have my sympathy for feeling they are underserved by their appearance, but my dick doesn't work! The one I had been using regularly for decades, the one giving pleasure to women almost as long. Now it's a piece of meat...just cut it off...it doesn't DO anything.

I view the boob implant vs. penile implant as total non-equals. One changes what you look like, the other changes what you can DO. I consider all the therapies following RP to have been a waste of time and effort, not to mention money and enduring temporary pain. My doctor tried them all on me, one at a time. Try Viagra, recently gone to $40 a pill, left me with bad headaches a day after my penis went soft again. Try Cialis, found a little cheaper price, had a painfully hard dick, and made my heart skip beats afterwards,,,scary! Try Levitra, cheapest of all, but gave me a limpish erection and still got the headaches. Months are going by. Years are going by. Try a penile pump. Now here's a primitive device. Suck all the blood into your penis, put a rubber band on it, watch it flop around at the rubber band point and try to insert it into something and do your thing before it deflates. Oh joy! This was NOT sex, this was a hundred yard dash with your balloon dick to get what might be called an orgasm before the balloon deflates. I'm sure my partner loved that event. NOT! But we tried and tried. Then came the needle. It was a small needle, much like the one for Botox. My Caverject came as a powder and sterlized water. Feeling frisky tonight? Open the chemistry set and mix the two. First get naked, wash your hands, alcohol clean your penis. Don't be touching things that might be contaminated. Let it all dissolve and, using a big needle and a small needle get the preparation ready to inject. Measure carefully, too little and nothing happens, too much and you are in pain all night. Experiment with more or less to get the right dose.

Does any of this sound worse than going in and waking up with new boobs?

Now, the injection. Alternate right side and left side each time. Insert quickly, all the way in, slowly inject the prescription. Not too bad. Wipe off the blood with an alcohol pad and massage your penis for 10 minutes to distribute it up and down. Sometimes...a glorious erection. Ready to go.

Do I hear the Mrs. in the bedroom snoring by now? Yes. Her sex drive has peaked and gone, and you are finally ready. Your manhood is proud and ready, but you feel guilty waking her up just to screw her so she can go back to sleep. What torture king invented these procedures? This is physically and emotionally cruel to both individuals. If the dose isn't right you get a very weak erection if any at all, just let her sleep, or you get the best erection since teenhood that hurts for 12 to 18 hours, long after the fun is gone. How did I do? Injections were about 50% satisfactory and of that about 10% were just perfect, wild screaming orgasms on both sides, multiple penetrations over the next hour or so, and sleep thereafter. That probability was too low for me to continue.

Thank goodness for the implant. The doctor finally justifies that (for the insurance, I guess), drugs, pumps and injections don't work for this patient. We need to do an implant. The videos on the web made me eager to keep injecting. Let's see, an injection or two a week, or they cut open your dick, stick junk in your penis and scrotum, then have normal erections. Scary stuff. I learn about implants, learn about doctors, learn about risks. Another six months goes by. Finally my implant is in and working and I am happy and satisfied as in the years before.

Success! Does this process even compare to the woman who wants to be bigger (smaller), goes in one morning and wakes up happy. Not at all. I love boob jobs, I love implants, but we need to make the implant process like the boob job process. Maybe the implant could be done at the time of the original prostate surgery. Sounds good to me.
Aug'15: RP NON nerve-sparing on Rt. Pills, vac pump, injections: Injections were best, about 50%. Aug'17: Penile pain and headaches. Implant: AMS CX 18 cm+2 cm. (Undersized! :x ) Asked for LGX! Ochsner Hospital, New Orleans, LA Still working great.

As men we are programmed to think we are only as good as our penis is. If I had walked around telling my male friends and co-workers I was getting an implant, many would think I was a lesser man than they are. Maybe if I was 75 or 80 and it was due to age, but I got ED at age 30 and it certainly was nothing I wanted my buddies to know about. We are all pretty outspoken within the privacy of this forum, but just the fact most guys here hide behind anonymous screen names tells you they aren’t too public about their implants.

In my opinion an implant is not at all comparable to a boob job. Since an implant is about function, I would equate it more to not being able to conceive or needing a hysterectomy at an age before most woman might need one.

I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

No doubt different than a boob job. A hell of a lot more involved and complicated and yes, functional vs esthetic. I suppose I was kind of light heartedly making the comparison in that for a woman, her breasts are external appendages that have a lot to do with her self image and that they are commonly augmented. While penile implants are primarily done for functional purposes, there is also commonly an esthetic aspect to it as well to restore us to a better shape, as in Peyronies, like my situation. And I was also making the comparison of how men and women approach things like this differently. Boob jobs are a well established and accepted part of our culture. Penile implants are not but given the number of men who silently suffer with ED or who have tried everything to no avail, maybe they should be.

Breast enhancement (even for a mastectomy) and cosmetic surgery is just that - cosmetic......a woman can still function.....a penile implant is for function.....any cosmetic enhancement like girth & flaccid appearance is a by product and incidental.....
Implanted Jan 4 2017 by Dr. Eid - 70 yo and single...ED gradually over 15 yrs...tired of pills, injections, cock rings....happy with my choice and results. Titan OTR - one 20cm cylinder - one 20cm+1 RTE...."got a rocket in my pocket"....

I'm certain you haven't done as much research as you think you have! In my experience, men are ANYTHING BUT "hush, hush" and I've never heard of or met a man who is "hidden in embarrassment" regarding his penile implant. And one such man I know who's actually proud, outspoken and talks it up any chance he gets is ME! In fact, here on this site, 95% of the men I've chatted with, spoken on the phone to, or met in person are the very same way as I!

Ohh... and ever seen the threads here on the site where guys arrange for and open up to offer "Show & Tell" opportunities? We do those too.

I just don't see the "apple and orange comparison" of breast implants and penile implants. I guess IF you're simply going for the LOOK of the bulge you once had in younger years, well okay... maybe your penile implant is akin to a boob job. But I and every other guy I know got our implants for FUNCTION. Not to look hotter in our pants.

Again, getting back to my original point. Obviously, the penile implant is primarily done for function with any cosmetic benefits coming as a secondary benefit if there is any at all. My thought when I originally wrote this was really the psychological aspect of how it affects our self esteem and sense of worth as men. Women and their boobs are similar that way. While boobs aren't "functional" per se, they do have a "function" in the role of enhancing a woman's self esteem and her perceived attractiveness. Obviously men and women are different. The man has to perform and needs an erect penis to do that. In purely biological terms, like beautiful flowers or birds in nature with their vivid colors, the female role is to attract a male for procreation. While women can certainly be beautiful with large breasts or small, they are functional accoutrements in the biological, sexual and psychological aspects. That's all.
I wasn't trying to make an apples to apples comparison, it was just a casual observation and perhaps a way of helping me to put my situation in perspective at the time. Didn't mean to start a hot debate.
I will, however, stand by the assertion that men and women deal with this differently. Yes, some men may be comfortable sharing this experience with just about anyone and be proud of it, but that is different than sharing with men online or with men who have also had it done or are thinking of getting it done. Those are all "safe" places to share. I doubt most men are standing on a hilltop telling everyone including friends and family who haven't experienced this, about their penile implant. Women proudly show their new boobs off to their girlfriends whether they have had implants or not. It's just different. I believe most men do keep this secret and chose to share with those who need to know.
That being said, it is a GREAT thing to have a forum and community of support among men like this one. And for those who are proud and more open about it, more power to you!! I am newly implanted so it is a little early to tell how I will feel about it in the long term. In the end I just might be one of those guys who will proudly whip it out for anyone to see!! We all go through this in different ways and are at different stages in the journey so our words and attitudes may change with time. My original post is just where I was at that time.

Yes, indeed. Men and women are different in what constitutes "function". Erectile ability is a male function. The attractant feature of a female's appearance is (to a greater extent than the male) a "female" function.

But there is another difference purcelldds hinted at; Women "network" with other women about intimate details of their lives much more and more openly than men network with other men about similarly intimate details of their lives.

At least, that is my impression. "Girl talk" has always seemed to me to be more open and intimate than "man talk".
