Trouble now is the bulb is so hard much of the time that I cannot hold it to keep it from jumping out from between my fingers. I have done all the protocol. Squeezing as hard as I can, the side of the block, stretching forward, up, down, side. other side, (makes the bulb super rock hard), shaking the pump, massaging.

The most luck so far has been shaking the pump and massaging the right cylinder very low down into the scrotum where I feel a bulge and even trying to push the right tip up into the glands and stretch it up. This is with leaning my shaft to the left where I have more access to as much of the right cylinder as possible all the way down as low as I can get my fingers to. All the AMS publications say if the protocol fails to contact my doctor so I made an appointment with my local guy for this Thursday. I will call AMS and see if they have any thing to add before then. It has been over a week and at least 5 attempts every day (35-40) since it last seemed to work evenly. And that was one of the 3 in the last month. Still takes at least 4 attempts to get fluid into the right cylinder. Tried sex with the GF today but just not enough yet.

Thanks again I will keep trying in case something breaks free or breaks all together. Not much to loose at this point save more pain and I am used to that now.

Give AMS a call, they are really great at trouble shooting. Hang in there... you'll be a believer. :)

Glad you are in line to see someone. Hope you can get this resolved. The shooting pump......I hate that. Still do it sometimes.

Went to see my local guy today. Great news is no signs of infection. Another possible in the mix is that he does not want to do any or part of a revision Said they were to difficult and to much greater chance of infection for him to do it. So maybe help with insurance if one is needed to go back to the surgeon who did the implant. I told him the whole history and that the bulb was easier to squeeze when I had greater success. He could only pump a few times and the bulb started slipping out. The left side was firm and tip was up. The right side was flaccid and tip was down. The glands were bent to the right. He asked if I could pump more and I showed him how I bent my index finger to cradle the bottom of the bulb and forced more pumps in with my thumb squeezing much harder than he did, I was able to get some fluid in the right cylinder and get the right tip up in the glands. The right cylinder was still firmer and bigger in diameter than the left. I explained about the deflate button being low beneath the ridge and how it was above when I had greater success. He stuck with saying the bulb was just stiff and would soften with more use ignoring the varied results. No help with getting the deflate button to above the ridge. Said the cylinders were good. He did agree with my surgeon that the tubes are impossible to kink. So that leaves a bad pump, bad connector, or a piece of something in the system restricting or blocking. I still have not been able to get in touch with anyone from AMS for any help.

So it seems all I can do is continue doing what I am doing and see if it resolves. If not then see what my surgeon and insurance will do this fall. Might see about getting different insurance in the fall for next year as an option if both of those fail. Last option would be in 4 years when I can go on Medicare.

newbie,

What you've described just isn't an acceptable outcome for this procedure. Helping you get this resolved has to be Dr Kramer's responsibility. He needs to diagnose the problem and help you get it fixed. If a revision or pump replacement is required I would hope he would do it at no charge or heavily discounted. Maybe I missed it, but what does Kramer say about the problem?

Get Kramer to fix it if you can get him to admit his mistakes. Good luck.

Sounds more like a manufacturing defect rather than a doctor's mistake. But yes, it is his implant patient and he should be first in line wanting it resolved.

I wrote a bit about understanding that these pumps can be quirky and patients having trouble with the inflating/deflating process. Had he been local and able to examine me and see first hand maybe things would be different. Maybe not. He must get a lot of concerns about this. Most likely I just have to keep trying for months before anything can be done as many will correct over time. So even had I been local I may have the same time frame to see if it self corrects. He has answered all of my e-mails and gave me instructions to try to resolve this. I went into this knowing that all surgeons have reoperation rates. I did my part to reduce this as much as I could and am thankful I did not have infection. If it is the pump then that is not the surgeons fault. Bad connector, maybe or maybe not surgeons fault. Even though I am over 7 weeks post op I have been cycling for almost 4 weeks. With some other surgeons cycling is just starting. Posting this thread was me again trying to do all I can to resolve this issue as was going to my local uro. I pushed myself and went through with this to resolve my ED. And I do have 1/2 of it working fairly well. And maybe it will self correct in a month or so. So that is the positive side of me thinking.

The other side f'ing sucks shit water. I meet my current GF before I went for this surgery and she has been with me through it. So day after day with the failures is just ED hell. I was so much looking forward to being well again. The dread of this going on for months or years is really making it difficult for me to stay positive about anything. Twice a day inflating with failures just pisses me off. Watching the left side do so well and expand in girth while the right side does so badly is beyond any words I can write. And to be honest I have many times thought of just giving up. The thought of another day with my cycling secessions is sickening to me.

So far the positive side has been winning by a great deal. This site has been a good part of that. Having a place to write to others and extend well wishes is going a long way to keep me positive. Thank you again all for your help and for this site.

You need to communicate your situation to Dr Kramer. Have you done that?
