2 wks after surgery swelling

Postby jerryc129 » Sun Mar 04, 2012 2:56 pm

Question about swelling..Implanted with a titan 2 weeks ago with Dr. Eid. I went to my follow up 10 days after to have my sitches removed and was deflated by his assistant who said to keep the implant pointed down from now on..she also said everything looked good, no infection. After this occured, Ive had increased swelling in my scrotum and shaft with some soreness. Has anyone experienced this? Im going to contact the dr this week but wanted to ask the forum. Thanks

Jerry:

Welcome to FT! That is a judgement call if there are no other indications of infection. I did develop and infection about 3 weeks post op. My incision suddenly got red, and split slightly and had some puss coming out. If you see anything like that, contact the doctor immediately, you need to be on antibiotics NOW. I think I would try pointing him upward and icing again to see if it is just the new position causing the discomfort. If it lets up, you're probably just experiencing some inflammation and ibuprofen will help a lot. Ibuprofen is a very good medication for inflammation and the swelling caused by inflammation. Tylenol will help with pain, but does nothing for swelling or inflammation. If that don't help, I would be on the phone!

Good luck.

Thanks Dave. Im going to try to re-position up like you said. Swelling was less when positioned that way before. I am going to give them a call though. Maybe when the assistant was deflating it..it caused some soreness and then swelling.

Hi Jerry --

I'm 12 days post-op, and had stitches removed locally here this morning rather than fly back to NYC. I've been alternating between up with jockstrap and down naturally since day 10, using boxer briefs. I have some soreness and ache in the shaft, but nothing worthy of more than an occasional Advil. The soreness/ache is sometimes better when its down, sometimes better when its up (especially when lying down I sometimes keep it up just using briefs, which are not nearly as tight and binding as the jockstrap). I think I still have some minor swelling in the scrotum, though its down from where it was. Overall, discomfort wise, its actually been sort of at a plateau since about day 2 post-op. However, my activity level has risen a lot since then, and I can easily knock the discomfort to zero with a warm bath and a little rest. Initially I had no soreness in the shaft, only glans and scrotum. Now its basically only the shaft. Scrotum is still tender, but I only notice it if there is pressure, and primarily in the vicinity of the pump.

To All, I was at Dr. Eid's office today to ask them about my additional swelling and itching. He said it was normal, things looked good, and I still have a ways to go to heal up. After his examination, to my surprise, he inflated the implant to check things out. It was sore, a little painful but wasnt excruiating. He also tried to straighten the implant out since I was bending slightly to the right. That hurt some. Have to say I was very happy with the size and hardness, best erection I ever had lol. Im bigger now than I was or so it seems. I then deflated it and inflated it myself to give a try and kept it inflated only for a few minutes as I was getting sore. Its less than 3 weeks from surgery so I still have to get rid of the remaining swelling. Im going back on April 5 for my final checkup and test run. Although he said I could use it, Im going to wait a few days for things to calm things down as Im sore.

Good luck to you both Rim and Jerry. As the doc says, you can not do some research on your own! Best of luck and your outcome seems outstanding in your expectations and that is what counts.
