Urologist -- Male or Female?

I've often wondered where guys stand on the idea of a female urologist
a) in general,
b) in dealing with ED issues, and
c) performing implant surgery.

My take would be:
a) no problem now, especially since so many female medical professionals have seen and/or handled my junk through my biopsy, prostatectomy, implant, revision. I would have never chosen a female urologist before this. Modesty is a thing of the past for me.
b) still would prefer a male, and one who has experienced ED would be a bonus.
c) would not choose a female over a male, all things being equal.

I've read posts here by guys who make reference to their female surgeon, but have often wondered whether most guys would be comfortable with a female.

Almost a decade ago when my wife and I were trying to iron out our fertility issues, I sought out a urologist to assess my part of the equation. Female or male didn't matter to me at the time (although I do tend to work better with female medical professionals). I found one in Towson (north of Baltimore) and scheduled an office visit.

I didn't realize that my doctor was a perfect specimen of feminine physical beauty until she walked into the examining room. Her first order of business was to welcome me to her practice by jamming her index finger in my ass right up to the third knuckle.

She ended up later doing a bilateral varicocelectomy on me to try to bring up my dismally low sperm count, but it just never responded.

She is a masterful microsurgeon, and now specializes in vasectomy reversals as part of a larger Mid-Atlantic urological practice. My current general urologist is also female, and she was the one that suggested I investigate the implant route given my medical history.

Either way, my primary concern is whether or not the doctor has a full knowledge of what they are doing.

Female would be fine if good. While having surgery with Dr. Kramer there was a young female doctor who was there the while time and learning from one of the best. Growing up when topless was a big deal and body painting wives with friends, being nude is no big deal. I sunbathe nude and want to visit a nearby nudists camp when I can.

I've always preferred a male urologist. Through cancer and ED, it just seemed like a male could empathize a little more, and for some reason I'm embarrassed showing my junk to a woman. I figure a guy has the same equipment and has seen a lot of other men in a locker room. My brain just doesn't process the idea that a female doctor has probably seen a lot more.

My main doctor for a few years was a woman, and she was pleasant and knowledgeable, but I never got used to the "turn your head and cough" part of my annual exam. She was starting to retire so I decided to move back to having a male physician.

Just my 2 cents.

I have always sought out male doctors, but it seems every occasion when I have had ultrasounds, surgeries, nurses checking my catheter or bandaging, it has always been females. I have posed nude for art classes since I was 18 and the majority of the students are typically female so I have no problem dropping my pants in front of women, but still fell more comfortable talking to another guy about my penis and all the issues I had over the years.

I haven't had an implant but I don't care about gender only quality. I did like it when my female doctor used to do my prostectomy check. She had such slim fingers they were far less obtrusive.
