OK, just going on my feeble memory of stuff I've read that I can't cite at the moment and bearing in mind I'm not a medical professional of any kind and I'm likely full of shit.

There is some risk to all of the injections from the needle stick alone. As for the drugs themselves I believe the phentolamine was the worst as a stand alone drug as to the chances of causing fibrosis. It was initially used as a stand alone but that use was largely discontinued due to the fibrosis risk. I'm guessing from the cited abstract that S. Africa withdrew the drug for that reason. I'm also assuming that chlorpromazin, which was found to be effective in the study, has a lower risk associated with it. Alprostadil is, I believe, considered the lowest risk for fibrosis as a stand alone, although a more recent study found that it wasn't risk free. The tri-mix is supposed to have a synergistic effect with the mix being more effective than the same amount of any of the drugs used as a stand alone. This, I assume, lowers the fibrosis risk due to less of the cocktail being used. I don't "know" anything about atropine but it seems to show up more in quad-mix.

I'm guessing I put enough "I'm guessing's" and "I assume's" in that post to assume that it's totally meaningless and without value.

To respond to your original question, some background: I had a bad reaction on my 3rd use of 0.2ml of pretty standard 30-1-20 Tri-Mix (see separate thread). I had used Caverject (PGE/alprostadil) 30mcg+ for a year before this but it really burned so I wanted to migrate to Tri-Mix.

SO, I underwent "sensitivity" testing on the components with controls.

At my full use strength in the penis:
I had NO theraputic effect with papavarine alone,
I had a fair therapeutic effect with phentolomine alone and,
I had a good theraputic effect with PGE alone.

And I have a great therapeutic effect with all three together as there is far less PGE and far less burn (4+ mcg vs 30+mcg).

I am currently sourcing more papavarine, phentolomine and PGE alone to do some mix ratio and strength experimenting.

I underwent penile Doppler using papaverine. The results were pathetic. I had no semblance of an erection. The doctor kept insisting that I had one even though I clearly didn't. I have some erections these days as I am on daily cialis and that erection is much harder and bigger. This was basically flaccid. Somehow the doctor did the penile Doppler tests and sent me home. The dose was 30mg.

I am quite dissapointed to be honest. Nobody has heard of trimix here.I think I will have to get trimix and try it on my own.

Where is here? The best advice I think is to find a local compounding pharmacy that makes it and ask them for recommendations on what local doctors prescribe Trimix.

That's a good idea. I will ask the compounding pharmacy for the doctor contact. I'm in India which has the cheapest medicine in the world. Today's papaverine injection cost less than 25 cents. Money will never be an issue for me. I just hope trimix works. I don't even get aroused much, so I probably need a big dose.

Two of the chemicals sound different.

Yeah, that's not your normal tri-mix. Based on the abstract, cited by dotcom, it appears the chlorpromazin is an acceptable substitute for phentolamine, at least in S. Africa where it appears it's no longer available. Atropine seems to be a standard component of quad-mix but not usually found in a tri-mix formula. Alprostadil(PGE) is normally a component of tri-mix but usually not found in bi-mix which is usually papaverine and phentolamine with the alprostadil omitted due to the pain it causes with some men. So what it sounds like is you basically have is the standard quad-mix with the alprostadil omitted and the phentolamine replaced with chlorpromazin.

I bet that didn't make a bit of sense. Bottom line is, yeah that mix is a bit unusual but I guess it's not too "out there". Also bear in mind that I don't know shit and I'm just posting wild speculation based on my own self delusion that I'm smart enough to understand any of this.

Couple of days ago talked to my doctor and asked question about Papaverine and fibrosis.... He told me that amount of papaverine I get is very low. In my mixture, papaverine 17.5, chlorpromazin 1.923 and atropine 0.23 make total of 0.09 cc and PGE1 alprostadil alone makes 20.91cc

1. mix of papaverine 17.5, chlorpromazin 1.923, atropine 0.23 (total 0.09 cc) and 2. 0.91cc PGE1 alprostadil

Had another papaverine injection. Pathetic. No response at all. And I was worried about priapism. This time another doctor gave the injection and I'm sure it was correctly performed. It was correctly performed the last time too.

The doctor has said if this doesn't work he will move me to trimix. I am not feeling very hopeful to be honest. This did not give any hint of an erection.

Had another injection. This time it was self administered. It game for an erection for about 1 min. Now it's soft. I have undergone two penile dopplers and doctors say I don't have venous leak. In the second doppler test I didn't even get an erection.

Unless trimix is 50 times better than papaverine I don't think it will work.

Guys I'm getting really depressed now. Can somebody compare the efficacy of papaverine vs trimix? Papaverine 30 mg didn't work for me at all.
