I have heard a great deal of posts lamenting about a surgeon installing an implant that was too small. Dissatisfied with size, floppy head, etc....
Has anyone here been implanted with an implant that was too large? My surgeon claims the problems are way more severe than an implant too short.
Opinions?
Thank you,
Robert
Too big?
Re: Too big?
Big implant is very risky: costant pain and possibility of erosion - extrusion (with consequent infection, necrosis and often impossibility of insertion new implant). Serius and permanent healt risks
Small implant : aesthetic and functional problems. ( Difficult or impossibility to penetrate due from floppy head).
Penile implant must have the "exact size"

Re: Too big?
yes, as MAXXXX states, the entire operation can be a failure if the surgeon oversizes. So that is why a surgeon will err on the side of undersizing since that means there will unlikely be a complication of surgery (though the patient may be unhappy with being not as long as they had hoped). It goes back to the old saying "first do no harm"
So, as MAXXX states, you need to be sized exactly right (with regards to your own natural length)---- only a super experienced surgeon with a high volume of cases under his/her supervision will have the courage to get the cylinder tips well into the glans with the absolute longest (but not too long) length.

Re: Too big?
All smart surgeons with any degree of integrity won’t insert oversized implants because of the potential risks and problems. I am sure the reason we hear so much more about undersizing is (1) because there are cases where docs can’t inset cylinders all the way in, (2) there are unskilled surgeons who don’t get a proper fit, and (3) guys don’t generally complain when their penis is as big or bigger than they expected, but can be very upset, disappointed, and vocal if they feel the doctor short-changed them.

I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.
Re: Too big?
important to add this:
oversized implant will give you serious risks and your penis certailny will not be bigger...but deformed (it is called S-shaped effect)..

Re: Too big?
This thread makes me feel like it’s extremely hard to be sized perfectly as you guys are saying and gives me concern that were I to get one, it wouldn’t be sized correctly (which is of course one of my biggest concerns)
37, mild to moderate ED since age 21, 3 Dopplers - 1 result VL & 3 later results 'no physical problem', dependent on cialis (efficacy now waning), overcame Lymophoma at age 26, ED causing immense/profound psychological distress. Considering implant.

Sizing issues are one of the biggest complaints of botched surgeries. Do your homework, find a competent surgeon that you are comfortable with will give you the best chance at a great outcome.

Mine is the same size, only nice and stiff. I talked with several other guys that used the same Doc before I did it. His nurses said that he is very careful and takes his time at it. His female resident doc, that assisted him, was in my room after recovery checking on me.
She said, "I think you are going to be very pleased!!!"
Then, I said, "How long is it"? She blushed and said, "I did not measure it."

Re: Too big?
Thank you to members who have replied to this thread. Many have confirmed that too big is a problem.
My main reason asking the question is to find out from members who have had cylinders installed that are too big. Are there any members on FT that have or have had this problem?
My concern with my surgeon is his assertion that I will be fitted with a 21cm. total(cylinders + rte) He also said 50% of implant inside the body, so that leaves 10.5cms of usable dick. My erection with Trimix (although not rock hard), is 16.5cm. 6cm. seems to be a lot to lose.
I’m at the point of forgetting having sex anymore.
Sorry, off track, frustrated!
Thank you all,
Robert

ED 20 years. Tried all oral meds to full dose, futile. Injections for a year, disappointing results. Relatively fit, 20 lbs. overweight. Depression. Considering an implant.
Re: Too big?
Trimix would make my sponginaous painful. So I could measure my entire growth from the bottom of my cruse to the glans. Pre op, I was measuring 23cm. That is 9 inch with 3 inch was inside me, from the base of the cruse to my pubic bone. The remaining 6 inch is the useable protruding length. I told the dr how I had measured it and he said ok, don't worry you will not loose length. He installed a 15cm,( 5 7/8 in) lgx with a. 5cm rte(2 inch). Total installed was 20cm. Yes ,11/8 inch less than my original measured length. BUT, It is all good. I am at 5 3/4 useable beyond my pubic bone and an told the rest will grow with cycling. In average cases I read that 1/3 rd of your penis is anchored inside the cruse(base). Hope this explanation helps.
