Implant August 6th - tips & expectations?

Currently headed to Atlanta, GA to get implanted by Dr. Hakky on Monday morning. Kinda nervous, but not turning back. Just curious about certain tips/recommendations post-implant. What level will the pain be post-implant? Definitely plan on taking my pain pills & laying flat for a few days. Lucky to have an Air BnB for 3-4 days after the procedure.

Any insight on tips or expectations would be greatly appreciated

I would say you are gonna need every day you have to just lay low and NOT do anything other than Ice and take your pain meds. I am on day 5 now, and just take tylenol and Ibuprofen during the day, but still take an Oxycodone at night. I have a high pain tolerance, so all of this is coming from a guy who doesn't really get over traumatized by a little pain.

Thank you very much for the feedback. Are you forced to sleep only lying on your back after surgery?

I was in the hospital for 24 hours after my implant, and they had me sleep on my back only during that time. I would assume if you are outpatient, you can sleep however you can get comfortable. I am normally a side sleeper, but found my scrotum did NOT like side sleeping at all for the first 3 nights. I am on day 5 today and have been able to sleep on my side now with a body pillow between my legs.

Is your insurance covering implant? If yes, how hard was it to get approved.
I am scheduled for September 5 and hope my insurance will approve my implant.
I had radical prostatectomy 21 months ago.
I hope you will be able to provide details of your procedure and recovery.

Don't worry 1roofer. I have had two and the first one was painful for a couple of days. Put ice packs to bring the swelling down. Both times I was an out patient, but I know if your surgeon has done many of this type of surgery, you are going to love feeling normal again. Good luck!

Thanks man! Insurance is paying for the majority of it. I’m paying like 5k as my copay. Have had venous leakage over the years from penile trauma from a lot of vigorous sex (aka sport fucking) lol. I am going Penoscrotal on Monday at 9 Am. Cool thing is my birthday is August 21 even though things will be a bit sore on my bday

Nice that we will be at the same stages in our recovery. Sure, comparing progress is always good and gives some hope to follow other one with same or better progress.
Is your insurance covering implant?
Next Saturday my wife and I will be flaying to Europe for our 30th wedding anniversary. Hope to hear good news from insurance when I come back. This Monday, August 6th I am going to see cardiologist for my pre op clearance.

Thanks very much for the input! Seems like your 1st rig lasted quite some time which is awesome! I’m doing outpatient as well. Trying to go into this with a good attitude. Was your overall revision easier than the intitial procedure? Was the healing & Length the same as the first operation?
