New member intro

I was encouraged to post on this forum by my friends at healingwell.com.
Prostate Cancer, gleason 3+4, RRP surgery March 2008, ED troubles since then. Recurrence two years later, underwent salvage radiation treatment then, ED has been getting worse since. Pills don't work, injections were working, but I developed peryronie's, which has been distracting during intercourse to say the least. The potency of the injections has been continuously increasing due to the RT. I finally broke down and decided to get an implant. Outpatient surgery was last Tuesday (3/27/12). Pain meds only first 24 hours. Things have been going pretty OK, doc wants me off my feet the first week.

It seems that there are many that took the same plunge I did here on this forum - I am looking forward to sharing experiences here.

Hi Jeff, Welcome to FT... Yep Im one of those that recommended that you get to this site. Also PC guy here. Lots of great advise. I am not bionic but do the injections and yep they work well for me.

Welcome Jeff and congratulations on your new IPP (Inflatable Penile Prosthesis).
Our histories are similar.
I developed ED Post-Prostatectomy in February 2004 and underwent the Coloplast Titan Penile Implant Procedure in
December 2007. Thankfully, it completely corrected my ED.
My wife of almost 50 years and I have been enjoying my Implant for the past 4+ years and counting.
Please be patient during the healing process and, eventually, the Implant will just become part of your body.
6-8 weeks post-surgery is a reasonable target but different men heal at different rates --- thus the need for patience.
Also, there are many bionic brothers in the FT Group who will gladly share their experiences.

Jeff - Welcome to FT! I commend you on your intestinal fortitude! I was on this site before my implant surgery on St. Paddy's Day 2011. I had lots of questions regarding what to expect long term from a sensitivity standpoint. Due to diabetes and other factors, I had already lost a great deal of sensitivity, and I was concerned that I would have this nice erection that provided me little enjoyment because I wouldn't feel it! I'm happy a couple of guys on here took me under their wing and reassured me so that I proceeded with the implant. I'm also happy to report that my sensitivity is improving and I'm actually getting some CS blood flow and that part is starting to react naturally again, the head isn't throbbing, but it's pumping up!

Any questions or concerns you might have as you heal and start using it, just ask. There are quite a few of us now, someone will chip in with some experience or advice.
