Hi All,
Just want to let you know, my surgery is over. I am already in my room, had my first cup of coffee. So far no pain at all, very comfortable, receiving intravenous fluid and antibiotic at this time. Awaiting lunch.
Still can’t believe surgery is behind me and I am feeling great like nothing happened.
I know, pain will start kicking in later but I am ready to embrace it .
Heavy stone is now of off my shoulders.
New time begins and I hope for good one.

Post op day 1
I am feeling good with minimal pain and some discomfort.
Catheter was removed earlier and already voided once on my own without PVR on bladder scan.
Bandages were taken off and I had first look on my genital area.
Surgeon came and gave me details about surgery. I was implanted with TITAN Coloplast OTR 18 cm + 1 cm RTE. He had problem with reservoir placement because of extensive scaring around penis and lover abdomen area secondary to robotic radical prostatectomy. He needed to make additional vertical cut about 2 inches in length for reservoir placement just underneath of my umbilicus slightly to the right.
JP drain was also removed earlier this morning without any drainage for 24 hours which surgeon regarded to meticulous Hemostasis during surgery.
Waiting for my last antibiotic before discharge which will be around noon time.
My wife was with me and she spent night with me in the hospital.
Will be discharged home with 2 oral antibiotics for 7-10 days of one will be twice daily. Also, will be discharged with pain meds and stull softener.
Can’t wait to go home. Slept so pourly last night due to all disturbances and multiple checking on me during he night.
Overly, it is way better then what I imagined and expected.

God's speed in your recovery, don't rush things, Ice,Ice,Ice! When your up to it, send pictures as the healing goes on. Guys that are on the fence about the surgery need to see what their in for and how well in improves as time goes on. Enjoy your new toy You will love it.

No, not Houstonian. Your experience so far sounds like a mirror of mine, except I didn't have a wife to spend the night with me. Oh well, maybe now that will change, too.

POST OP Day2
Minimal pain, swelling really increased and my scrotum reached a size of large orange. That gave me most discomfort. Only 1 pain pill in 24 hours (Tramadol 100mg) Just before went to sleep. I was icing regularly.
I felt really good and had trouble with staying in bed and on my back which, I am sure, contributed to swelling. Also, lots of bruising is present on my scrotum, perineum, inguinal crase and above my penis.
Overall, doing grate.

Post OP Day 3
Today, I am staying more in bed and off of my feet. Swelling might be slightly less then what it was last night before going to sleep.i am icing it regularly. Took shower this morning and had my first BM post op. I am taking twice a day COLACE stool softener and added prune juice this morning. Today and yesterday, I don’t have a good taste of food in my mouth which is most likely anesthesia related.
No pain at all. I have some discomfort in my genital area.
Surgeon told my wife and I how skinny I was in my lower abdominal area, with no fat deposits so he needed to place reservoir deeper under the muscle to hide it from being visible bulge in my abdominal wall.
I just thanked him for the compliment. I am 6’2” and on day of surgery I weighed 212.7 lbs.
I am doing great and hope to progress with my recovery as expected.
