Regarding the “sideways, laying on side” suggestion, would the guy have to be pretty well-endowed? I haven’t tried it yet but that would seem to be true or at least I think so.

Well size never hurts within reason but 5-6" is enough here and actually less so than with missionary IMO. Actually it exposes the woman's perineam pretty well with you laying sideways between the legs and them bent up at about a 90 deg angle from the hip. It's like a sideways laying "on bottom" position. You can alter the angle a bit to suit her/your geometry. Pulling the top leg up helps even more. My wife complains on longer sessions that her compressed leg gets sore. So we take a short break, and fluff each other, and I get stiffer each time for some reason. Her lower leg goes in the crook of you hip and you can lift up on one elbow (and close one eye) to lift the load and get a better slam. A boner five to six inches from the pube bone is good enough unless your fat pad is big. But I don't fade anywhere near as fast or bad as on bottom. Plus for a longer session say, 30-40-50 minutes, it's less tiring; I'm not a 20 y/o gazelle any more.

Look, all you can do is experiment with positions and what might work for you. Some misses and hopefully some hits and keepers. Ultimately our goal is to roll over from this with me on bottom and get her cowgirl hat on again . . . . We'll see. It's all research as long as you have a winner to fall back on "for the win".
